After a long walk through the zoo and so many hours in it, you get hungry. They have good food options, the hamburgers taste very good and the portion is good, although somewhat expensive.
The view is unbeatable, to the lions' cage through a giant window.
They don't mention the mistake of buying water, there are drinking fountains everywhere.

For the prices, the food is quite underwhelming. Burger seemed to be steamed frozen patties. Not a great value.

I had an amazing experience with the restaurant the food was delicious and top notch. The service time was impeccable. It was nice to cool off during the hot day. Icing on the cake was getting to dine with lions.

Poor quality food and service even at low zoo restaurant standards. Out of multiple sandwich toppings, but nothing was said until after the food was paid for and handed to us. Staff seems disinterested in providing customer service.

A few weeks back we took our kids to this restaurant as we were at the zoo, and upon arrival at 2:03 pm I was told they were closing, once I google its hours and asked for the manager they were kind of nervous, I spoke to Alexandra she apologized but even when it was 1 hour prior the closing time nothing was done, my kids were hungry and I could only bought apple juice for them, I was very dissappointed and I would really love for them to take into consideration that 2:00 pm its way to early to close on a summer weekend.

It’s good that we can eat lunch here while watching elephants.
Excellent walking zoo... generous cooling stations
Beautiful animals, I loved this place!
Knowledgeable staff, amazing animals.

Be aware that the zoo is BIG. You are going to do a lot of walking.
Variety of different animals, plus feedind the giraffes.
Don't bother visiting if the temperature is below 40°. All non-building based animals will be off exhibit.
After driving 2 hrs from Austin, I was bummed! The weather was ridiculous. I didn't get a chance to see any animals AT ALL! I'll be back next year for sure.
Make sure to check out the activity board at the main entrance for all of the great FREE animal talks going on throughout the day! It is amazing to see their work up close.
