I never would have known about shortstop if a friend hadn't taken me there. It's around the corner from the Starbucks at Preston and Royal on the northeast corner. It's a great takeout place. There are few little tables inside and he can eat lunch there if you can find the space, but it's known for its take out. People are in and out of there everyday for lunch and they have some great egg salad, tuna salad and chicken salad. They have some great takeout meals for dinner an individual or large family portions. I recently had the chicken with artichoke and it was great. It didn't have any rice or noodles which was perfect for me being paleo keto. It was just chunks of chicken and artichoke in a creamy sauce. It's making my mouth water just thinking about it.
Great food. I have been going there since a I was a kid. It is just great, service is super fast and the lunches are great. Prices are amazingly cheap
I love the food here. It's fresh, simple, and fast. I would compare it to a Panera. Speedy service if you're looking for a quick-light lunch. The best chicken Cesar salad I've had!
Went for lunch on 1/4/18. Ordered the tuna sandwich that would make me want to "slap my mama" - it was marginal. My mama is safe for now. The best thing about this place is that it is a very quick lunch; I was in and out in 90 seconds.
Just like Mom used to make. Comfort food all the way
I don't know about the roast beef sandwich or a rude owner (the only 2 reviews so far) but I can tell you this place BY FAR has the BEST Tuna I have ever had in my life. I want to get a part time job here just to get the secret to the recipe. I literally crave it and have to grab some to go from time to time or I might die. Haha. Also the sausage balls are freaking amazing and there is this pecan/bacon/cheese dip/spread that will make you want to slap yo mama! This place rocks and I would like to own one some day!! :)
Got a roast beef sandwich that tasted like it was from Arby's for $8. Now I have to go get another lunch because those 6 bites of food did nothing for my hunger.
