We were excited to stay at this hotel bc of its history &pics online. It wasn’t until after we arrived were we told the hotel restaurant bar/grill was closed. The rooms were pitiful. Our tailgate was stolen in the parking lot that night. The hotel management & owners wrote & signed a letter right then and there stating they would file it on their property insurance since there were NO cameras on property, but ‘they have parking lot security through the night.’ A security guard must’ve needed a new tailgate or to make some money on the resell of our King Ranch tailgate. We have reached out for months with ZERO follow through. I will tell everyone about the AWFUL experience at this overrated hotel that has gone to complete crap. Not to mention it’s poor location.
All staff was friendly and helpful. Room was a decent size and it was clean. This hotel is expensive but again still reasonable. Would definitely recommend having your stay here!
Nice staff, spacious room, comfortable bed. The location is also amazing-free from unnecessary noise. Would recommend this place to the fullest!
great hotel! and close to downtown dallas!
I had really great expectations for this hotel...growing up in and around Dallas, this was a part of town I would never go to after dark...now new apartments and shopping all around. The place is cool retro on the outside and could have been very cool inside if someone had not been so cheap. My room was dreadful...clean but dreadfully boring...someone forgot to tell them that beige walls went out in the 70's. Solid brown carpeting and beige walls...and only 2 little pictures over the bed. The furniture was, from what I could tell, just old hotel furniture painted brown with the really ugly brown carpeting. The bath was clean and looked to be new tile, which was fine until you see paint peeling off the bottom of the bathtub. Just wood blinds on the window...and no blackout drapes to block early sun. I love wood blinds but as part of a complete window treatment that includes drapery. There is so much potential for this hotel and to go cheap and tacky just invites poor reviews. It was billed as a place for artists...well I have been an artist with many film credits for over 40 years, and I don't know any artists that would love staying here. I have to say, Motel 6 has better decor that here. On top of that the bed was not secured to the wall, so every time I would roll over the headboard would bang against the wall, I can just imagine what that sounded like in the next room. No charging outlets or plugs on the nightstand. As a decorator with years of decorating sets, the room looked like a room where a hooker might bring her tricks. What I would consider a $50 a night room...and trust me I traveled a lot and stay in lots of hotels around the world. Then there was the blatant false advertising on their website offering stay 2 nights and the 3rd one was on them...I'm so thankful they did not stand behind that advertising because I could not have spent another night in that room....So much potential....such a shame...It does have Great views of Downtown Dallas from outside and I guess from some rooms...not mine...Not worth $150 per night...Please decorate!!!
Room had trash in cans, on bed and floors and i strongly weighed leaving to find a different hotel with more pleasant environment to sleep in..but was too late and too tired after day at hospital. Retro vibe gone too far I’m afraid. In need of major updates to room before I would recommend to anyone.
Cool place very charming. I love the way they took this old place and renovated into an art deco type hotel. Also have a great bar with good happy hour.
No frills lodging. The hotel is an architectural landmark and very quaint. It's old but very clean. The staff was helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay there again.
This place was advertised as a retro boutique place....yes it is old but not retro. We stayed in a queen studio (for three guests). Limited furnishings which could have come from Goodwill, rag throw rugs which should not be walked on barefoot, no amenities (ex coffee pot) Had to ask for extra towels (received), hangers (2 wire and one broken skrt hangar), roll away cot (not fit for use) and lastly non-working heat (they immediately provided two space heaters which makes me wonder how often they get this complaint). Photos are not representative of our room. Can not recommend this place at all.
I will start with the positives, the staff is very hard working, pleasant to interact with and attentive to requests. The exterior of the building is beautiful and reminds me of a Hollywood set.... And that is where the positives end. The rooms have the potential of being period specific with charm but the cracks in the wall, dirty rugs, poorly patched showers and water damage galore ruin whatever charm could have existed. The heat did not work and we were provided with space heaters. The cot provided allowed me to feel every single spring and I slept on the couch instead of suffering. When we brought issues to the attention of the staff we were told they are renovating.... Nowhere on the website, in person when checking in or in the room did it say anything about renovations... It seemed like an excuse for when things went wrong. If some serious work was done to the place, it could be worthwhile to stay at in the future, but things like a coffee pot would go along way.... If you find the hotel listed for a bargain and go in with your eyes open, then it could be worth staying at... Make sure you have low expectations..

Overpriced, cheap rooms. When I arrived there was no running water for over half the day, so I wasn’t able to shower when I arrived from the airport before an event I had that night. They dropped this bomb on me, didn’t offer me any compensation or even an apology, and then didn’t even have the courtesy to help me take my bags to my room. The enamel in the tub is completely peeling off (see photo). The room is covered in wall to wall carpeting that looks like it’s been here since the 80’s. All of the furniture is nicked and scratched. And on top of all that, they charged me a $70 pet fee to protect this broken, old room. Given this lack of customer service and poor quality product, I would not recommend. The only redeeming quality is the view, you can stop by and see that in less than 15 minutes. Don’t waist your money.
Hotel different but with incredible charming , and outside to the downtown but near to the action, incredible place for recharge batteries or work peaceful
Historic hotel that has seen better days. Staff friendly and helpful, but there is not much vitality here. Seems past it’s prime. With the absence of Smoke and the Lobby Bar it was completely dead on a Friday. The room was adequate but seemed dated. It’s that critical moment to figure out vitalization or end up closing.
I loved staying here! Amenities were minimal but the room was comfortable and affordable. The real draw is the funky decor and awesome view of the city. They do cool little things like keeping guitar picks made from hotel keys at the front desk. And the Do Not Disturb sign is a little tassel to hang on the door handle.
Loved the Belmont, until the last couple of years. It used to be great. But now they can't seem to keep a reservation, the online price booked and confirmed is jacked up when you get there. It's really sad, used to be such a cool place, the new management is having issues. Sad to say, we'll be looking for another place.
