Go here for the basil schmere - it is special and you should buy a tub to take home with you. They also carry Sunshine gluten-free bagels here, which are excellent and just as good as the regular bagels. Runner up to the basil schmere is the fermented jalapeño schmere. Always add extra schmere if you are used to eating bagels overloaded with filling.

If you miss those big, chewy bagels from NY/NJ this is the place to try. I was blown away by how authentic their bagels are. And they have salt bagels, something I’ve found to be very rare in DFW. I grew up in the Hackensack, NJ area and there was a place in Teaneck that had the best salt bagels. The ones at Starship Bagel are just as good. I take my bagels seriously. They are the absolute best you’ll find locally.

I really enjoyed my visit to Starship Bagels! The Italian bagel with jalapeño schmear was absolutely delicious—great flavor and just the right amount of kick. The hot coffee was also spot on, especially with the caramel syrup. Perfect combo to start the day. Definitely coming back!

The restaurant is tiny and crowded. There are people eating and there was a line. The bagels were not fresh. They were hard. The shmear was not tasty. I tried honey almond and cannoli. Very disappointed!

We have not had good NY bagels since… NY, as Dallas is a food desert with the most restaurants per person. Some foods we even gave up trying. This place was James Beard finalist for 2025, and we decided to give it a shot. In fact, we had high expectations. Our expectations were met 100%. The bagels are chewy, because that’s how they should be. The crumb inside is excellent. The shmears are fresh and delicious - we got basil, jalapeño and cannoli, each was different and delicious. I was skeptical about falcon sandwich, I just never had a good avocado toast in the past ,which would justify the price and the hype. It ended up being my favorite sandwich. We already started calling family and recommending this shop.
