What I saw today broke my heart a little.

An elderly couple walked into this Subway and politely asked for the bathroom key. The two staff members told them they were too busy. A few minutes passed, and the couple asked again, this time they were told they needed to buy something first. No kindness. No courtesy.

They waited patiently, looking confused and a little embarrassed. After about 10 minutes, the lady — clearly uncomfortable — bought a bottle of water. Only then did the staff unlock the bathroom.

I get that it was a busy moment. But this couple wasn’t causing trouble. They were well-dressed, respectful, and just needed a little grace. At that age, waiting 10 minutes can feel like an eternity. And having to “earn” access to a basic human need like a restroom is just
 sad.

One day, this could be any of us. Or our parents.

Please, Subway — remind your staff: kindness costs nothing. But it means everything.

The ladies that works there were amazing!!! It was my first time visiting Dallas (from MD) so I took the bus to explore the downtown area. I stop there to order some sandwiches and go back to the hotel. After ordered I went back to the bus stop right next to the subway. Two busses ? (230 line) didn’t stopped and after an hour I had no cellphone battery so I had to go back to subway. My cord didn’t work and those amazing ladies offered me a cup with ice and water and shared their fast charger cellphone cord that I used to check the time for the next bus stop. I made it back to the hotel thanks to them. They’re very kind people!

My recent visit to the Subway at 509 Elm St #150 in Dallas, Texas, was incredibly disheartening. On June 8, 2024, around 2:40 PM, my wife was suffering from a heatstroke outside. I sprinted to the Subway from some distance away. Desperate for help, I ran into Subway to get a large ice water while waiting for emergency services to arrive.

I briefly explained the urgent situation to the employee, Paula (I believe is her name but not entirely sure), hoping for some compassion and quick assistance. To my shock, she gave me a careless look and proceeded to ring up the water, stating it would cost $3.45. When I expressed my disbelief and explained again that my wife was having a heatstroke, she responded coldly, saying she didn't care.

Despite my frustration and disbelief, I had no choice but to pay for the water, as my wife's health was at stake. Paula's lack of empathy and basic human decency was shocking and deeply upsetting. In a moment where every second mattered, her behavior was not only unprofessional but also morally questionable.

This experience left me saddened and appalled by the lack of basic human kindness and the prioritization of profit over a person's life in an emergency. The insensitivity displayed here is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about customer care and ethical standards at this Subway location.
