Love Sue Ellen’s, love the staff and how safe I feel but I’ve never been to an event there that started on time or within 30 minutes of the start time. Super frustrating because I feel like I can only go there and enjoy it when I’m looking for a night out that isn’t dependent on their entertainment

I love the energy of Sue Ellen’s and the gayborhood in general. I always feel safer and freer there. The Mustache Envy shows are always so much fun, and so is staying to dance afterwards. But I wish there were more non-alcoholic options and I’d love to see cleaner bathrooms. Overall, it’s a place I’ll continue visiting because of the community.

Paid $20 to get into Sue Ellen’s on New Year’s, and the experience was honestly really disappointing. The restroom was absolutely filthy — overflowing toilet, trash and paper all over the floor and seat, splatter on the walls, and no sign that staff were checking or maintaining it. For a busy holiday night with a cover charge that high, this is unacceptable and unsanitary.

When I asked why the cover was $20, the staff were rude and dismissive and simply said, “That’s the price,” with no explanation and no courtesy. The attitude made it clear they didn’t care about the guest experience at all.

Between the lack of cleanliness, poor management of a holiday crowd, and unprofessional customer service, this did not feel worth the money. I expected a much higher standard from a long-standing Dallas venue, especially on New Year’s.

If you want to win at pool don’t come here. I was walked out with my friends because we were “hogging the pool table”. We played doubled against three groups until someone wanted to complain to the bar and security that we were controlling the table (all because they didn’t want to play me and my partner) why have pool tables if you don’t understand how pool is played….

So because I couldn’t remember I had a charge you wanted to discriminate me? My grandmother died of Alzheimer’s and you want to say that’s why I can’t get a drunk.

That’s why you always work the peon Job you got.

I LOVE Sue’s, and this isn’t a review against them. I love the community and vibes it provides on weekends and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. HOWEVER, I’d rather be anywhere else on a Friday when DJ PNOI is djing. The dance floor is consistently empty when he’s on DJ duty, and I wanted to suggest a line dance or literally anything that would draw a crowd to the dance floor, but upon asking if he takes requests, he said “for money”. This was really disheartening because every other DJ who has performed at Sue’s has taken requests, and the crowd always responded positively! I thought it was a joke at first, but he doubled down on taking requests for money. I was really polite about it, and again, my request would’ve only been helpful as literally NOBODY was on the dance floor. I implore Sue’s to get a different Friday night DJ because I’ve stopped coming on Fridays when I see his name on the weekly schedule. Otherwise, I’m a regular and I love it here!
