I’ve been a loyal customer of Sushi Kyoto for about a year and ordered through Uber Eats multiple times a week. I’ve also left positive reviews in the past because I genuinely enjoyed the food.
Unfortunately, my recent experience was extremely disappointing. I contacted them regarding an order issue (which I’ve only done a few times over the course of a year, and for valid reasons), and instead of being treated respectfully, I was spoken to very rudely and told that they never wanted me to order from them again.
I’ve never experienced such unprofessional and dismissive customer service, especially as a long-time customer who has supported this business consistently.
It’s really unfortunate, because I liked their food, but the way I was treated was unacceptable. Good food doesn’t excuse poor customer service.
Update: The owner publicly responded to this review with insults and false accusations instead of addressing my concerns professionally. This only confirms the disrespectful treatment I experienced.
Additional update: The owner’s original response also included racist and discriminatory remarks, which were later removed instead of being acknowledged or apologized for.

Don’t recommend. Stay away.
Me and my friend stumbled on this place by accident and wow I’m so glad we did. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend the smoked mountain roll.

This place was good in the past but recently visited had to wait 1 hr for bento box meal. Awful service and food quality. They had 1 person serving 6 tables and she couldn’t speak decent English and didn’t know the menu. Not going there or taking my guests there

This place is not worth the money. The food quality is pretty standard in terms of sushi but asking for 10 dollars for two pieces of salmon nigiri is asinine. You can get similar quality for a lot cheaper within 10 minutes

Best sushi in town. The service is top notch and the staffs are really friendly and take care of you really well. Even when they had rude customers with no common sense and entitlement, they handled it well.

The management literally made us feel so very unwelcome and was tremendously rude . And I asked him if it was normal to make people feel unwelcomed and he said yes and shook his head yes . I am incredibly shocked and appalled by his behavior . And then he tried to use his accent as a way to say he didn’t understand what I was saying when he legitimately has a business in Dallas . I will never come back . And I would never recommend it to anyone . He never even took accountability or tried to apologize.

Restaurantji Recommends
I had the spicy salmon roll, spicy edamame, some house sake in a cool bottle and then finished off with the banana tempura ice cream. Everything was so good! The service was great too. It was raining very bad, and one of the gentleman helped us get back to our cars with his umbrella. He came in clutch!

This place was not great as far as sushi. Tons of options but everything seemed bathed in mayo that we ordered. Plus there is a credit card surcharge added to your bill. It definitely isn’t a 4.6 rating. This should be lucky as a 4.0.

Just had lunch here. Hands down the worst sushi I’ve ever had. I should’ve sent back the food and gotten a refund for how disgusting this was, gas station sushi would’ve been better. We got the spider and rainbow roll, both basic staples of any sushi spot. The fish was warm and tasted funky, then the eel sauce on the spider role tasted like someone had added rubbing alcohol. Dallas has so many great restaurants, I would recommend literally anything else over this restaurant. Save your money and your GI tract - DONT EAT HERE.
This place never disappoints, everything is always super yummy.
