Good menu but the fish and vegetables we ordered were way too oily

Came here for a Sunday brunch with some friends, sat on the patio. Service and atmosphere were great.

Food, however, was mediocre. We ordered the bruschetta to share… the diced tomatoes had no flavor, and the bread seemed like cheap supermarket quality. Bit silly for $16 for 4 slices.

I ordered the garganelli all’arrabbiata for my main. The pasta was overcooked, basically fall-apart. Italians eat pasta pretty al dente, but this wasn’t even an American al dente. Sauce tasted like it was out of a jar, highlight was the 3 Calabrian chiles - but these were oddly served with the stem on.

Bit frustrating because these all seem like they’re easily solvable quality decision/control issues. Good Italian is very hard to find in Dallas, but this place could be great if there was just a bit more focus put on food quality.

I felt profiled based on my appearance during my visit. When I walked in, I asked to sit at the bar. The host went to speak with the bartender, and I noticed the bartender look me up and down before saying they didn’t have anything available for me. I was then seated at a table instead.
The interaction made me feel uncomfortable, but I chose to stay because I genuinely wanted to try the food. While my server was attentive, as a former server myself, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was being judged or profiled — possibly as someone who wouldn’t tip well. Ironically, because I’ve worked in the service industry, I’m actually a very generous tipper.
Unfortunately, because of how unwelcome I felt, I won’t be returning

Probably one of the worst waitstaff experiences. Me and my boyfriend went here for dinner and waitstaff was slow despite us being one of their only tables. Waiter forgot what drink my boyfriend had ordered and brought it out 20 minutes after the entree had been served, after being reminded. The only thing that was fast was giving us the check. No amount of courtsey or positive service given to us. Additionally the food is not worth the price, it was bland, 28$ for a pile of four underseasoned below standard ravioli.

The food and service are great. The atmosphere? It depends. Inside is definitely better than the patio, even when the weather is nice. The patio is right next to a loud road. The worst seats? On the sidewalk, about 2 feet from the curb. Both kids and dangerous. So, it's great if you can sit inside, good if you can sit on the patio, and terrible if you have to sit on the sidewalk.

Samir was awesome, welcomed us in and even gave us a dessert for our first time at the resteraunt. He was very informative of the menu. I plan to return again with friends as the experience was very good.

Taverna is my staple restaurant since moving to Dallas. Consistent, amazing service (Hugo bartender is the best). Seafood fresh; generous portions and overall great atmosphere. I’ve at in and ordered in over 50 meals - always great.

Lasagna was great, the burger was good but I figured out truffle on a burger is not for me. Service and atmosphere was outstanding.

Great service by Rob. I made it a personal challenge to try and empty my drink, but Rob was so attentive I could never make it to the bottom. His knowledge of the wine selection was impressive and very helpful in making a selection.

Food was fantastic except the appetizer meatballs. The consistency and taste reminded me of frozen meatballs I could find in the supermarket freezer aisle.

I would gladly visit again just for the service by Rob, but I wouldn’t order meatballs.

The atmosphere was really good, vibrant, and fun. The food not so much. I wanted something simple for brunch so ordered the avocado and toast. It was really bad in almost a funny way. As you can see from the picture (taken as I received it) the random assortment of dry burger salad toppings were arranged in a weird druidic circle around my plate.

A single piece of hard supermarket bread in the middle. The salmon I removed as it's freshness was questionable. The avocado was old and had a couple of the outer skin in it. The poached eggs were ok.

The server was nice but was oddly confused as to why I only had a couple of bits, however did not inquire as to why or if there was an issue with my meal.

I honestly thought at first it was some sort of prank being played on me. Maybe it was?

I had a fantastic glass of wine and a lasagna.

Honestly, the food was great. However, our server felt like he didn’t want to be there. He was mostly MIA (Francisco). Apparently, Patricia is the person you wanna request.

My family and I were there to celebrate my sister-in-laws recent engagement. One of the other servers (not Francisco) dropped a bowl of marinara on the floor and it splattered on the newly engaged couple. She was wearing a white sweater that had marinara splatter all over it. The server who spilt the marinara was very apologetic and even brought us oxi-clean to try to take care of the stains. All that being said, I was disappointed by Francisco’s reaction or lack thereof and frankly by managements reaction. Both just disregarded us and entirely. Neither our server or management apologized, nor did anyone offer to comp a single item for the dry cleaning that’ll be required. The cherry on top was the 20% auto gratuity that was charged at the end. When things go wrong, I believe how we react speaks volumes and leaves the lasting memory. The server who made the mistake owned it and showed my family care. Francisco and management did nothing, said nothing, charged us an extra 20% and then sent us on our way. My family and I will not be back.

Came for an early dinner and left disappointed. The margarita pizza was not fresh and reminded me more of a frozen pizza from a grocery store. The gnocchi was under seasoned but was an okay dish. Service was fine, wine was good.
