We stopped in last night to have some drinks and listen to music and we're immediately greeted by every staff member there. It was such a pleasant welcoming. Everyone was so nice and friendly and the atmosphere was so chill. Servers were singing and smiling, like everyone was family. I read up on the history of the establishment and Bishop Omar Jahwar, and I can say the young men working last night were true examples of what Mr. Jahwar stood behind. I bid The Fivee Bistro & Bar much success and will do my part by letting others know about this place. PS. Thank you for the complimentary hush puppies!

Great catfish!

On 09/28/2025 I visited this place for the first time I heard the food was amazing. My experience yesterday was terrible. I don’t know if this was opening day and they were just trying out a whole new staff, but it was terrible service. I made reservations for 2 PM. Waited in line to get to check-in finally was able to get someone’s attention and let them know I had reservations. They proceeded to seat people that were coming in after me and my party which it was just two of us. I had to repeatedly keep standing up to let them know. Hey, I’m here still waiting for a table. Finally get seated outside on the patio. We sat at the table for over 40minutes With no server acknowledging us, bringing us water anything no service for 40 minutes. We were finally sent a server who was sweet and was trying to make the best of the The situation. He takes our drink orders. He takes our food orders. It takes over another 30 minutes for us to receive a drink. We received all our drinks that we didn’t order before we received food and at this time it’s about 4 o'clock. The server actually forgot to put our order in which made our wait even longer. We finally get our food and of course it’s cold. My waffle was not cooked all the way and tasted Like nothing but flour and it wasn’t what I ordered at all the server claim they were out of things and never came back and told me so he just Brought me a waffle and some chicken on his own. There was also a lot of confusion on who the manager was who the owner was nobody wanted to state what position they played at the restaurant strangest thing. We finally spoke to someone who claimed to be the manager, but never stated his name and he said that he would remake the food and we just decided to get up and walk out. This was such a fail, and I have no desire to support black owned businesses like this.

The service was horrible. For a party of 3, we were there for 2 hours. When they first sat us down, no one gave us a menu or told us to go to their instagram for a menu. All they did was give us water without any further greeting, waiter or instructions. We didn’t get food until 30-40 minutes after ordering. There were also gnats. My waffle was cold and my chicken was somewhat dry. You would think the food would be fresh as long as we waited…0/10 would not recommend.

This was one of my favorite places to eat when we visit Dallas to eat. I was so disappointed today. The chicken wings had no season just flour and grease. The breakfast potatoes had no seasoning and were hard. Our waitwr had to bring us seasoning. The grits uae to be fire. The staff was wonderful as always!!! I think this was my last time patronizing this restaurant.
