The restaurant is beautiful. So is the bar. The problem was the food or maybe just what I ordered- halibut. It was almost inedible. There was no flavor and it was mushy. The waiter never asked how our meals were after serving us nor when he was removing the plates. My plate still had most of the fish on it. So I asked if he’d like to know and shared my opinion. He was apologetic and didn’t charge us for that dish. But why did I have to be proactive with the information when the food was still visibly on the plate? We were staying at the hotel and had been looking forward to the complete Rosewood experience. This was a disappointment.

Amazing breakfast. My husband and I spent a week here for a quick getaway and loved it so much. Our breakfast though was perhaps the highlight for us. Everything was cooked perfectly and the wait staff was incredibly attentive. They kept our coffee hot and were so kind. We will definitely return :)

I and my family were racially profiled and treated with bias, cruelty and distain in July of 2021. They were so vile, that they had the nerve to escort me to the table I had actually reserved, and said "See that, you can't have it'". The staff actually was instructed to put us in the the back of the restaurant and so they did. They set up a table and chairs in the back, "Colored People in the Back"; difference was, they didn't have a sign up at the door saying that like it was back in the days of segregation. They should have just put the damn sign up. We were given the nastiest spot, the nastiest table and chairs and seated in the back directly in the kitchen service door, with the nastiest view. They saw coming thru the door, black people alert! My advise to you and I don't care what your race is, don't waste your money, don't spend one thin coin there and if you are a person of color, don't waste coin nor time.

I took my partner for a birthday dinner on a weekend evening, which was basically an excellent experience. There were a few correctable flaws, but first you have to accept the fact that this is a very expensive restaurant which I would reserve for business meetings or very special occasions. Among the many pluses are: 1) Exceptional complimentary valet parking service; 2) amazing veteran servers and support staff; 3) wonderful setting (but stay away from the main dining area (see below) and instead try to get a table in one of the attached more intimate side rooms; 4) exceptional tasting food; 5) complimentary birthday dessert choice; and 6) wonderful bar for pre-dinner drinks. Among the areas to be improved: 1) when you tell the manager/greeter that you're early for a reservation and will be in the bar getting drinks, that manager/greeter should either come get you when your table is ready and/or come ask you if you want more time in the bar. Unfortunately he lost track of us and I had to go back up front (10 minutes after our official reservation time) to remind him that we were in the bar and ask if our table was ready (which he acknowledged had been ready for quite some time); 2) portions are too small to split, even though that's how my partner and I always order. We like to order a starter, entree and side dish -- all split. The guacamole, while very tasty, didn't arrive with enough chips nor enough guacamole to really satisfy 2 persons despite the pricey cost; The halibut split produced two small pieces which could not have been more than 2 oz each, but perfectly cooked and exceptional tasting; 3) Portions of pricey wine by the glass could be 1 - 2 oz larger; the portion of complementary dessert, however, was definitely enough for two persons to split, as was the side dish of HUGE steak fries; 4) we unfortunately suffered by being seated in the main dining room right next to an exceptionally boisterous group of 4 women who were loudly and constantly laughing at each others jokes. That's just bad luck, I understand. In all, we've done our Mansion "thing" and probably won't return unless suggested by friends (or we hear that the weaknesses identified above have been resolved).

A lovely evening in every way. The mansion is warm and beautiful. The staff is incredible and the menu is inventive and delicious. We enjoyed everything!

Been here 3 times and didn't enjoy any of the meals. Service was decent.

I tried to book a table for 8 people on a non-holiday November weekend (not Thanksgiving, CMAS, Valentine's Day, Easter or Mother's Day) to celebrate my husband's birthday with friends. After my phone call was finally returned 2 weeks later, I was told that a table greater than 6 people was required to have a Prix Fixe menu. When I asked to speak with the manager, he was extraordinarily rude and told me he hoped we would have a great time elsewhere. I don't know who these people think they are. My husband and I had hosted wonderful celebratory dinners here for many years, but after this treatment, we are going elsewhere. They are not worth it.

We parked on the side of the road so we wouldn't have to pay for valet parking. The food was beautifully presented and good but expensive. The atmosphere was awesome. I'm glad we splurged as part of my long birthday weekend.

We brought the family here to celebrate the day before Thanksgiving I had not dined here in a very long time. It was 1 o’clock in the afternoon and there were only four other tables with diners other than ourselves. My parents both had steaks with some type of vegetables and small potatoes and mushrooms. The Steaks quite frankly had a horrible flavor and the veggies and mushrooms were soggy and a bit salty. I decided to have dessert first and then the butternut squash soup. The desert was petite and the best part of the meal the butternut squash soup was OK it was not quite warm it was a bit tepid . My son had a grilled chicken Caesar salad which is actually quite hard to mess up I tasted it and it was all right. My daughter-in-law is vegan and they were very accommodating and made her avocado toast. We all had iced tea. The restaurant was hopping back in the day and the food was always excellent. The ambience is always wonderful. Our service was good. I would not come back for another meal here at all but they have a wonderful bar in the evening that’s always packed great drinks. For dinner it definitely would not be an option for me again. I was disappointed.

TL:DR : Subpar, overpriced food, in quaint and Instaworthy setting, with polite but sloppy service. There's not much left to say about the Mansion. It is routinely heralded (and frequented) by the "old moneyed class" of DFW. The old-school upscale ambience feels genuinely nice, because of the building and its nooks and crannies. Definitely a place to dress up a bit for...until you realise that you'd get Brunch food that's much superior, at half the price, at a dozen other places in the city. No, really. The single defining moment of our brunch was when we realised that the chef had arbitrarily removed their much vaunted crab cake from the starters section, and the seared scallops from the entrée section of their 3 course prixfixe brunch menu. When I asked how come those items were there the previous week(s) and not today, I got told that it was a new menu, and they'd added, wait for it, Shrimp & Grits. What is this, Cracker Barrel Luxe? Blatant attempts at cost-cutting, and customer-squeezing notwithstanding, here's what we eventually got from the boring and restrictive menu: 1) Mimosa - Bad. No effervescence, just a splash of orange with no body or flavor, poor quality sparkling wine, in an impossibly narrow flute. 2) Bloody Mary - Average. Not made to order, kept pre-made in glasses. 3) Large pastry basket - Good. Tasty and fresh assortment. Should have ended our meal here. $17 bucks wasn't bad for the pastry basket. The remaining 200-ish dollars we spend on food was a bad decision. 4) Smoked salmon - Good, but a Hobbit-size portion. Sloppy service here meant the server dropped the accompanying bagel off the plate while setting it down on the table. 5) Tomato-peach salad - Good, Hobbit-size portion, and a generally strange dish to be on a brunch menu. The 2.6 pieces of peaches were hard and flavorless. 6) Mushroom ravioli - Good, small-portion. Sharp, cheesy, creamy sauce which was tasty but not particularly elevated. 7) Brisket Benedict - Embarrassing. For $26 I should have sent this back or called the chef out. The tiny benedicts with a sliver of brisket on a mini-biscuit were fine. The Bearnaise was bland but fine. Everything else on the plate- especially the fried potato side, was terrible. Unfit for consumption. If management is reading this, spare me the "we will do better next time" spiel, and either offer me a redo or a refund for this dish. 8) Petit Filet - Okay. Tasty but plain. Small piece of decent steak, pretty close to the medium-rare I requested. Marble potatoes were soft or hard, but atleast edible. Spinach and trumpet mushrooms were fine. Red wine jus was fine. 9) Desserts were okay, with the Churros being quite good, and the Creme Brulee being good but plain and cloying after a few spoons. 10) Coffee was average, and as expected, expensive. $6 for a cup of black coffee plonked down on the table. Something else to note - most of the wings of the dining room are closed off for Brunch so if you're expecting to get lovely garden views you're likely to be disappointed. They only seat people in the verandah, which is nice but somewhat cramped, or in the slightly dreary dining room. We sat in the covered dining room straight through the entrance to the restaurant. I dont know if I was enjoying the fireplaces and ornate pillars and dinner vibes on a bright Sunday morning, but it's a pleasant, albeit small space. Bill was $200+ for 3. We ended up leaving and eating a heartier meal elsewhere after a couple of hours. Overall, I might return to see if their lunch & dinner are better because I did enjoy the setting. I'd just skip the place for Brunch. Far better options, food-wise, in the city. As lovely as the Mansion is, you can't eat the decor and ambience, can you?

Many restaurants on restaurant week will dump their cheap menu options onto the $49 3-course meal menu. I was pleasantly surprised that our meals at the mansion were absolutely wonderful. We were made to feel very welcome, their service was exceptional. The restaurant week menu was thought out and executed perfectly. The pork belly with melon was delightful, and I don't think I have experienced octopus cooked to such tenderness!! Instead of being an afterthought like most restaurant week menus, the desserts finished the night wonderfully. We thoroughly enjoyed the raspberry panna cotta and the pot of chocolate.

Even during the week we were grateful to have reservations as they were quite busy. Elegant with pleasant service and an extensive wine list. Prices seemed reasonable for environment, location and excellent service and fabulous food. Had a drink at their inviting and comfortable bar before dinner. Don't miss the cauliflower! Best ever. Would love the secret.

Most lives are lived with many nights at a restaurant. For me this was one of the most memorable dinners that I have enjoyed. All aspects of our evening at the Mansion Restaurant were extraordinarily good. Decor, food, service, ambiance were all first rate. We also visited the restaurant for breakfast three times during our stay at the hotel. All were equally fantastic.
