I’m surprised I haven’t reviewed this place since going there since 2018 or 2019. I’ve always been a fan of this bar.

I’ve moved to multiple residing cities since I’ve been back in Texas and I always find my way back to this bar. I live in Oklahoma now. But I’m close to the Texas border and I made my way to Dallas just so I can eat here again.

Their drinks are delicious. But their food has always been phenomenal to say the least.

Their fish and chips is to die for.

I remember when they had bacon mayo and it was sooooooo good. Unfortunately it was discontinued some years ago.

But I still manage to come by this place every now and then. Definitely one of my favorite Dallas spots.

I had a terrible experience at this bar. From the moment I sat down, I was ignored for several minutes without anyone offering me a drink. When I finally managed to get someone’s attention, the service was slow and unfriendly. To make things worse, when I was ready to ask for my bill, the bartender had already closed my tab without my permission, and added a 20% tip without even asking. This level of service is unacceptable, and I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a welcoming and respectful atmosphere.

20% auto tip is a joke. The service was a joke.

Went for trivia. $16 minimum per person is understandable.. BUT the FORCED tip was not.. which is ironic because I usually tip 25% to 30%. Trivia guy was cool, but there are more updated versions around.

Fries were right out of a frozen bag (contrary to what the wait staff said when asked)

Order was wrong. (but not surprising)

The pretzel was the only worthwhile option.

There are So many better choices on Greenville... which is sad because the location is cool.

I’ve been going to Libertine for years and have noticed a sharp decline in the food this past year. The past three times I have visited Libertine to eat, it has been bland and unimpressive. Nothing seems fresh, has a “straight out of the freezer” taste, if that makes sense. During one visit the croissant breakfast sandwich was ordered and the avocado was completely brown and gritty - inedible. Like…who actually sees that and thinks it’s ok to serve?! When it comes to anything that comes with a sauce, gravy, or cheese, there is barely any put on the plate - cutting corners for cost is the only conclusion I can come to for that. My most recent visit was this past Sunday (10/13) during brunch. I ordered the hash with no onions and extra cream cheese (due to the point made above). The hash came out with onions, on a small smear of cream cheese and so insanely hot it painfully burned the inside of my mouth. I decided to send the food back and declined ordering something else, that was enough for me. I’ll no longer waste my money on food here. The front of house service is ok, which is reason for 2 stars. Back of house needs some serious attention.

Haven’t been able to visit the inside of this restaurant, but it was poppin when I visited with my boyfriend! We weren’t head over heels for the food, but the service was nice, the drinks were amazing, and we loved sitting on the outdoor patio. This is a great spot if you want to bring your pet!!

20% auto-gratuity with no heads up, so we tipped twice. Shady practice

Good cocktails, drinks, beer, plus bar food and a chef who made my salmon rare for me, which was amazing.

Burger volume vs price ratio was bad. Tip was already added to a table of 4. Filler fries. Drinks ok. Fish and chips ok. Pretzel was the only saving grace.

Chicken sandwich was mid in flavor to be honest but the Muenster fries are a MUST TRY! Absolutely delicious! Bar service was great and the Mexican beer we had was better than expected. Started with an E. Overall great experience would return mainly for fries and drinks. Cheers!

Strolled into the patio area with wife, daughter-in-law and 6 month old,sat down on bench seating, service was quick so we ordered the steak medium rare with a choice of drinks for $20.The steak was tender and the presentation of the meal was surprisingly good that even the baby enjoyed a chew.Tuesday steak night at The Libertine was a real winner for us and we will be back.

I love it. The only drawback is that it’s next to Manpuku.
