I've been to many Neiman Marcus restaurants; Scottsdale, Atlanta, Topanga, Beverly Hills, Newport Beach, etc. This is the worst run of ANY NM restaurant I've been to!
Aside from the dated look of the restaurant, the service was slow and lackadaisical. The food was OK but they didn't serve the Famous consume and popovers to start!š
Why call yourself a NM restaurant when you break tradition from every other NM restaurant.
Manager was around looking like she hated her job. Most NM restaurant managers are on it and check with their customers.

I just love coming here, the food is always good, if it wasn't for being on my fit journey, I would want the whole menuš«£š¤ Seriously though, from the management to waitresses and hostress,they have great customer servicešš¼ I literally have a few menu itemsš but my two favorite are the chicken salad sandwich with chips and the ceasar salad with salmon!!!ā¤ļøāš„ Oh let's not forget the strawberry cakeš°

I periodically walk through NM on my visits to NorthPark to say hello to sales associates whom Iāve gotten to over the years. It had been long time since Iāve eaten at the Mermaid Bar. Last week I decided when checked to see what was new or still present on the menu. The salmon tacos changed my plans from lunch at PF Changās. They were š¤¤. I got a bowl of the White Bean soup āto-goā. Iām going back this week to get two bowls āto-goā to pair with my fav roasted corn cornbread sold at Central Market. Additionally, the Bartender, Drake was cool and friendly.

Grew up coming to the mermaid bar with mom and nana. moved out of state, came back recently with my kids to keep the tradition alive. I CANāT BELIEVE they changed the chicken saladā¦. What are they thinking?!?!? So so so so disappointed. Also the chocolate chip cookies were not the NM chocolate chip cookies?!?! I left confused and sad.

Worth, all the way west to Beverly Hills. Thanks to Jonnieās adept way to impart diplomacy and genteelness, we ladies have made a quarterly tradition of meeting for Champagne and merrymaking at NM Mermaid Bar.Jonnie is a Neiman Marcus treasure!
Johnny is always friendly and in a good mood. Every time I go to North Park I always stop by the bar to pay a visit because I know itāll be good service. He remembers his customers and their preferences, even if youāve only been a couple of times. My husband hates shopping but now he is always down to shop as long as we go to the Mermaid Bar and see Johnny

Lunch at the Mermaid Bar after shopping for Christmas presents is a delight. Neiman's is always such a wonderful place to spend time, especially around the holidays. Wonderful atmosphere, fantastic food (and you must get the spiced iced tea...delish), and extremely welcoming staff! Highly recommend. And if you can, sit at the counter and Johnie the bartender will ensure you have a fantastic meal. Save room for the cake! Love, love, love Neiman Marcus.

Update 10/30/2023: Estella was our server again today and she is always great! We highly recommend the Chicken Chicken Salad and the Duke of Windsor sandwich are fantastic . And of course you must share a slice of cake - we recommend the coconut cake. Update 8/19/2022 - the food and service are consistently great. Lobster roll is stellar as is the salmon. The grilled pimento cheese sandwich is truly memorable. The carrot cake is fantastic. Really excellent food and service.

This used to be our splurge lunch place to go to between shopping. We went there this weekend and were so dissapointed. Ordered the three cheese sandwich with a salad. The bread looked liked cheap bread , the cheese had so much salt on it , the salad was so sour and had too much vinegar on it. Also ordered the chicken tortilla soup that looked and tasted as if it came out of a can. The staff looked like they really did not want to there. Even the spiced tea has changed. The color changed and there was undesolved powder on the bottom We miss the old Mermaid Bar . Will not be back.
