Very well presented- the venue is very elegant had a lot of thought behind it.
This place definitely wants you to feel Mexican and its decor tells you so.
Their dishes are very well served and its presentation is well thought to the last detail.
Unfortunately in my opinion and culinary experience it’s another gringo inspired texiCan restaurant that serves tacos with cheese.
For the “school” of restaurants this shows the others though - how to serve well thought out food experience for the conquistadores! - who are spending someone’s else gold!!

We arrived to a packed house and were a little concerned about the wait, but from the moment we pulled in, everything exceeded expectations. The valet service was impressively quick and courteous. Our car doors were opened with a smile, and the restaurant doors were held open as we walked in. We were seated right away by the hostess, and both the drinks and food were exceptional. We need one of these up north in Frisco. What a great evening!

We had a table of 9 on a Thursday night. I really liked the vibe of this restaurant, it's very nicely decorated and the hostesses, valet and doorman were quick and efficient. Then came the service, and poorly executed is the best description I can give. The waiter didn't seem to have experience with the menu and couldn't answer questions about it. The drink order was taken, and the drinks are good and strong here. We ordered shareable appetizers and they came out in a timely fashion, but weren't anything to brag about. Then we ordered our mains, again the waiter couldn't answer many questions about it. The mains came out and I had the snapper tacos and I was underwhelmed. Overcooked/chewy fish and an odd flavor. I ate one, then gave one to another guest, then didn't eat the final one. Here's the rub, the waiter never asked how our food tasted. If he had, I would have shared my opinion of my dish with him, but he didn't. Then we went on to the desserts, and they were very good. Overall, for the price, $80 per person, this place was a disappointment and we won't be back.

Bouncer and hostess incredibly rude. I was wearing dress shorts and polo and was grabbed by the arm and asked to leave upon entry. Attached photo of the dress code violation for which I was forcibly removed.

Update - this last time we went (our 3rd in 6 months), service had declined quite a bit, the appetizers we ordered were cold, they didn't have our dessert even though it was pretty early in the night. Might have to find ourselves another good spot.
This place is a little noisy sometimes but the staff was super helpful and told me their Polanco room is quieter.
Besides that... Amazing. Service is stellar, food is great and portions are big for an upscale establishment. Drinks are amazing! Their chips and salsa are phenomenal - especially the spiciest green salsa.
The Campechana is the dessert to get. It's delicious. Me and my girlfriend love this spot.

We celebrated a birthday with a large group and had an amazing experience. The valet staff was quick and welcoming. The host and our server were attentive and professional, and a manager stopped by our table a couple of times to check in. The food was to die for. Five stars across the board. This is our new go-to spot for special occasions in Dallas.

My wife, daughter, and I had an amazing experience last night at The Mexican restaurant. The service we received from Event 3 S (Larry) the server was absolutely outstanding, attentive, warm, and made us feel truly welcomed. Please ask for him.
The atmosphere was vibrant, the food was delicious, and the entire evening was a great family outing. Highly recommend, and special thanks again to Larry for making our night so memorable.

Came here for a date night on a random Tuesday. Amazing experience from beginning to end. Loved our circle booth looking out to the dining room. The restaurant is beautiful. Make sure to check out the wall of fancy tequilas behind the bar area.
I was pleasantly surprised they had a French white wine. We had mostly seafood options, and I’m not much on tequila. It was perfect with our himachi and tuna. Mh got the tres enchiladas which were all great but the crab stood out as the star!
Our server, Carlos, was fantastic and took great care of us.
I finished the night with a Carajillo for desert and boy do they make a perfect one.
10/10. Recommend.

I went to The Mexican for my birthday and the atmosphere was great, the food was great as well. However, the service just seemed like they try to rush you out of there as fast as possible. We had finished our food and paid our ticket but decided we wanted another drink so as we are waiting for the waiter to pass by this African American lady came to our table and said the reservation for that table had arrived and checked in so we had to leave. I highly doubt that reservations are set per table it's more like hurry up and go so we can sit the next party and make more money. For the amount of money you spend here cause it's not cheap of course I wouldn't expect to be told you need to leave already. This is the reason I will not be returning to this place.

Incredible atmosphere, service, cuisine, and attention to detail. The lobster elote and campuchana are must tries. The gentlemen at the valet Yasmeen and Omar are also super nice and even offered to take our photo. Definitely a Dallas institution you must visit for a night out.
