The food was absolutely scrumptious! Came in after a long morning, wanted something filling and savory for lunch with a drink to relax. The Playwright delivered! It was seat yourself, so no wait there. Got the Shepard pie which I first thought looked small but after chowing down realized it was just the right size. Also got a bittersweet symphony cocktail which I would recommend for the gin drinkers.

Also this may be odd to say but the glassware stood out to me. I liked how the water glass was real glass instead of plastic and had texture! So pretty! Same for my cocktail glass!

Stopped by for lunch. Great pub, lots of Irish whiskey and Scotch. I stuck to the food, but this would be a great watering hole if you had a designated driver!

Nice pub spot to go to after work! Drinks are solid, and the food choices are actually really good! I got the fish & chips and LOVED it. Was fried to perfection with a delicious batter and juicy white fish on the inside. Atmosphere is great here and I highly recommend taking friends or a small group of coworkers.

Really liked the typical Irish pub feel here. Love the way the 3 staff worked together, handled the flow and stay one step ahead at all times. If you are at Opera or ballet I would recommend. Also free parking

A very nice and cozy Irish place in the neighborhood to relax with few drinks after a long day. I make my way there everytime I visit Dallas.

Place was near our hotel and didn’t want to dine out so got takeout. Ordered the wings and fries. Very happy with taste and price. Spicy Asian is very spicy but being Asian hotter the better. Haven’t tried anything else but if your craving wings definitely recommend. My kids thought it was wild wing wings.

Lively pub! Great for lunch or a hangout. 1 or 2 sections that would be great for groups. Food was hot and fresh. Good service. Outdoor seating patio seating available. Small tequila selection.

Service is okay, drinks are good.
The food- well, At least for the burgers, overbearingly mediocre, tastes like something you’d get at a six flags restaurant. Frozen fries, frozen burger patties, I typically like when my food comes out fast. But it’s definitely a red flag when the food comes out 4 minutes after ordering.

I’d hope the other entrees are good, but as for the burgers, absolutely not worth it. It shouldn’t costs nearly $40 for a burger and one cocktail, I wouldn’t be mad if the burger at least palatable.

I’ve been here twice already — and each time was absolutely fantastic! From the moment you walk in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere instantly sets the mood for a great time.

The food? Incredible. I had the burger and chicken wings — both bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. You can tell they take pride in every dish they serve.

The beer? Outstanding. Cold, refreshing, and full of character — exactly what you’d hope to find in an Irish pub.

But what truly makes this place special is the service. The staff are insanely attentive, friendly, and genuinely care about your experience. It felt like I was treated not just as a guest, but as a friend.

I can’t wait to return. If you’re looking for delicious food, great drinks, and a cozy atmosphere with top-tier service — The Playwright Irish Pub is the place to be.
