This place was a surprise for sure. While tortillería is clearly in the name, I wasn't expecting to see giant bags of masa and an enormous tortilla machine when I walked in. I ordered 5 tacos (carnitas, beef fajita, chicharon, tripa, and bistek) and one kilo of corn tortillas which together came out to be about $18. The tacos came with a green and red salsa and a baggie of cilantro, onion, and a lime to dress them up. In terms of seasoning and flavor, I would easily rank these as some of the best tacos I've had. All of the meat options I got were perfectly seasoned and well cooked without being dry (that's especially challenging when it comes to carnitas) and paired beautifully with their salsa (the green was my favorite; it was vibrant and had just the right amount of salt). The most surprising taco was the chicharon, I did not expect such a perfect presentation of what chicharon could be like this. The sauce it was cooked in was savory with just the right amount of heat. It was also surprisingly meaty and it easily became my favorite taco out of the bunch (I dare say it's the best chicharon taco I've ever had). While it looks a bit bare on the inside, the food that comes out of this place really shines and I think is deserving of a visit if you ever pass by. The tortillas hold taco fillings really well and feel substantial. If you've been waiting to try the place out, now would be a great time to give it a shot.

Worst place ever, zero stars if I could. First time going there because our favorite place was closed for the new year holiday. We ordered menudo, carnitas and barbacoa. Nothing came with salsa, we had to purchase a salsa container. No big deal we’ll eat the whole salsa eventually. When we paid the lady at the counter packed us a pack of tortillas even though we never ordered any. When we told her she said in the most rude way possible with a smirk on her face “well I already charged you for it”. So whatever not going to argue for $3 and also didn’t wanna wait 5-7 business days for a $3 refund on my card. So we get home all of the food is cold. The menudo is so disgusting, thick and nothing but bone, hardly any meat. Looked like it had been reheated several times already and the taste was no good. The carnitas has literally 3 pieces of meat and the rest was tallow and the pork skin, again disgusting. The barbacoa looked decent and we were hoping at least to be able to eat that. Well again no disgusting it was super salty and flavorless. All you could taste was the saltiness. I wanted to go back to get a refund but I just didn’t have the time. All I know is that there went $30 to the trash, a bad review and never coming back to this place. If you’re looking for a good place, drive a few more blocks and visit EL CALENTANO! They will not disappoint!

I just moved to the area and usually come here every Sunday for tamales and menudo. However today was very disappointing. The menudo was pale and tough. Very flavorless. I thought I had found my go to spot for good authentic menudo etc.

Me and my family love coming here, but we will not be returning. My father who was paying yesterday with coins was made fun by the cashier. There’s nothing wrong with paying with coins!!! It’s money. My father is a hard working person and to be made fun because of paying with coins is disgusting. Please improve your customer service as this is unacceptable!!! Do better!!! For my father to even bring this up to us “who is a hard headed person.” Let’s me know this affected him so much.
