I've been here several times for the enchiladas and tupy tacos which are always consistent. Decided to switch it up and ordered guiso. I was so disappointed. The beef was so dry and hard. I let the waitress know but I was running short on time so I didn't send it back. There could be a lot of improvement with your staf ar least trying to make it right.

Solid Tex Mex food There are still a few places you can get a plate of enchiladas just like you did anywhere in Texas in 1960,70,80. San Antonio,Austin or Dallas. I'm always reading reviews from people near and far( usually far) who say Texas doesn't have good Mexican food. I grew up in xyz and we knew how to do it. Or,it's nothing like Mexico. That's all accurate because it's none of those. It's Tex Mex. It's here at Tumpinamba. I highly recommend you ... Go

I have been going here since they located on Northwest Hwy, Inwood Rd, and now Central Expressway. I have never anything negative to say about their food. The service is always good. I love the puff tacos. My wife and I try to always stop in when were are in the area.

I ordered fajitas amazing, service was good. Sat on the patio. I was just enjoying the beautiful day and this amazing meal. I leave the table for a moment and all my food had been removed. The waiter was apologetic and very nice and the manager asked me if I wanted them to bring it back?!???? My thought was where is the food, “on the top of the trash or what?”lol I was just embarrassed for her question. So let me ask you … is it an almost empty restaurant, how fast should you eat your food? or this young manager confused on how to treat others??? yes I will go back. But my food will be to go✌️ sorry no photos I didn’t got to the dumpster … and I only wanted an outdoor lunch. Instead I’m hungry?2weeks later I went back, I had a ordered fajitas food was over cooked service was fine. Just done. Will be bringing food back. So dissatisfied and manger was very childish when she saw me come in. So many good people work there. Just wasn’t impressed 2nd time especially after the 1st was such a fiasco on the restaurant’s behalf.

If I could take away stars from this place… I would. My husband and I attended this place for lunch and knew their main clientele was the reason for the high reviews. This food was unauthentic, sub-par, and geared towards people who have NEVER eaten Mexican food or Tex-Mex in their lives. The salsa was CLEARLY from a jar, PACE is what we immediately thought of. The “Tupy Tacos” were ABSOLUTELY the worst part of the meal. Think Jack-in-the-Box $.99 tacos.. but worse. It was CRAZY to think that someone is getting paid to make those tacos and give them to people to eat as part of their “brand”. It is mushed beans and the “essence” of beef half stuffed into a fried tortilla & it was disgusting upon arrival. The only partial saving grace was the sour cream enchiladas, but even those were clearly just made in bulk and set under a warmer for consumption.I beg anyone who ISNT over the age of 80 to stay FAR FAR FAR FAR away from this place and go to La Paloma across the parking lot instead. Don’t make the same mistake my husband and I made by staying for guilt.

Finally tried Tupinamba after years of driving by it and boy do I regret not coming sooner. My server is so nice and attentive and the food was delicious. I ordered the queso with ground beef, a poloma, and moctezuma revenge. Moctezuma revenge is the perfect meal for those whole love breakfast potatoes meat and cheese. And the poloma was goood, not strong but definitely gave me a buzz. They also have a good amount of vegetarian options.

Truly our favorite Mexican restaurant now. Queso and Guacamole are both amazing! Iced tea and Margaritas both top notch!! My wife's favorite is the Mexican flag plate that comes with a cheese, beef and chicken enchiladas!! I love the 12th Man that comes with a perfectly cooked steak and an enchiladas! This visit my wife got beef and Shrimp fajitas and said they were yummy!! You can't go wrong at Tupinamba Cafe!!!
