Stopped by this panadería Friday morning Jan 23, and while I understand the charm of a busy mom-and-pop bakery, the experience left me uncomfortable. The shop was extremely crowded, and it’s a self-serve setup where customers use trays and tongs to grab pastries. I saw someone drop their tongs on the floor and continue using them, which was concerning. When they ran out of tongs, it appeared that used ones were simply put back out instead of being washed. They still had crumbs and even appeared a little bit greasy and just used. This means that the tongs that were on the floor are just gonna be used by somebody else later. Also someone’s kid grabbed the bread on one of the lower shelves and the parent did not notice.
I truly appreciate small, family-run businesses, but basic cleanliness in a food environment is essential. Because of what I saw, I’m not sure I’ll be going back. I hope the bakery can improve its hygiene practices, because their conchas are well-known and clearly loved by the community.

The Mexican bread is usually good but the portions are now smaller and more costly. The breads are obviously smaller and the recipes have been altered.

Ordered my daughter's first birthday cake from here and it was perfect! Our family is not big on sweet so we got the whipped round cake with strawberry filling and it was delicious! The staff was helpful and polite.
