One of my favorite bakeries in Dallas, but I won’t be returning to this location due to the treatment received from the employees during my visit yesterday (9/13 in the evening).
The shop was empty when my friends and I arrived, but I still had to wait a good 5-10 minutes standing at the kiosk to place an order. The 2 employees working were talking to each other and one of their friends at the checkout counter, and seemed annoyed/inconvenienced when I asked them if I could place my order.
Later on, after about 15-20 minutes of waiting at this point, my friend noticed she still hadn’t gotten her croissant so we went up to ask when it would be ready. The workers looked annoyed, once again, that we had interrupted their conversation to ask for an order we paid for. They asked if we had paid and it took another few minutes for the lady to remember that my friend had already paid for her croissant. There was no apology. When they finally brought out the croissant, it wasn’t heated up like we had requested. At this point, we didn’t care to say anything since the workers were so busy in their own conversation and anything we said was treated as an annoyance. The trash can was also filled to the brim and spilling our trash, so we took our trash outside.
Again, one of my favorite bakeries in Dallas, but I will not be returning to this location due to the annoyance, eye rolling, and blatant disrespect experienced from the workers on 9/13.

Cute and cheery shop! Chantel was super nice and friendly! I was a little sad I didn’t see any treats that were both gluten free and vegan (I have allergies). I will have to get a coffee next time!

Probably the best service and vibes I have ever had at a small bakery place, you must go here if you want to have a great time. I was having a bad day and they made it so much better.

I came yesterday afternoon and visited again this morning ( 9/3/25). There is a huge difference in customer service from one day to another. The barista nadia and the guy working were super friendly and very open to answering any of me and my families questions. Compared to yesterday afternoon the girl working by the bread just gave an attitude. We hardly got a welcome in and the girl just had a tone the entire time we were ordering. Food was great but the girl employee working yesterday afternoon needs to be checked.
Pastries were just ok but lots of attitude from the lady who worked there. Ruining the vibe... Sad. Won't come back.

I love coming here!!! The atmosphere was amazing and the baked good were excellent!!! I loved the people that helped us!! I believe their names were Stephanie and Clay!! They explained the menu really well, and recommended what they thought was the most delicious item off the menu.

The atmosphere is so cute, the espresso machine is next level in there. It’s super clean and the coffee was delicious. BUT the chocolate croissant was amazing and so fresh!

I recently visited Village Baking Co for the first time & had a very disappointing experience. While I was looking forward to enjoying a nice cup of coffee, the male employee named Clay at the counter was extremely rude.
From the moment I approached the counter, he seemed annoyed and barely acknowledged my presence. When I asked about their coffee options for a sweet caramel flavor I was hoping for some suggestions from him. He did not give me any and actually seemed annoyed with me, which made me feel unwelcome. My friends on the other hand were attended by Steph and she was such a sweetheart and in a good mood. She gave my friends their order fast. Clay had me waiting while he was just standing around as if he forgot what I ordered or just purposely wanted to make me wait longer. I thought to myself, well maybe hes just having a bad day, but then 2 gentlemen walk in and his mood changed instantly, he smiled with them, made conversation, made them feel welcomed, and was even conversating with them giving them suggestions on places to visit nearby.
It was disheartening to encounter such bad customer service in a place I had high hopes for.

Been here a few times but after today with the male barista named Clay & his off putting attitude, I really don’t think I’ll be going back. Unnecessary attitude towards the girl behind me for absolutely no reason other than her asking for recommendations on a sweet coffee with ice. Was of no help at all, so short with the responses & went as far as rolling his eyes when she kindly asked for her paid for pastry. We all have bad days but this was uncalled for, unprofessional & plain out rude. Absolutely no attempt at good customer service.
Side note- the female barista was really nice & the only reason I stayed.
