Sourdough is the very best around. Other stuff is good, if maybe a bit overpriced.

Do not get the matcha latte from here. Go somewhere else. The pastries were good.

Village Baking Co is a true gem! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Amaia and Jeremy, who made excellent recommendations. I highly recommend trying the Pain au Jambon—it's simply delightful! If you're seeking delicious baked goods and friendly service, this is the place to be! Can't wait to go back!

Visited this location today and could not have experienced a ruder, more unhelpful member of staff. The staff member had dark brown hair and glasses. Did not say “hello” when we walked inside, didn’t ask if she could help us with the purchase of any bakery items, it was extremely awkward and uncomfortable. It’s a shame since the quality of the product is great but staff member needs to be replaced with someone who wants to be there and willing to interact with customers.

When did good customer service become obsolete? No good morning, eye contact, I’ll be right with you? So sad because it’s a great place!

Pastries are good. Coffee needs a lot of improvement. A macchiato is not a small cappuccino

Tragedy struck the moment I laid eyes on my poor éclairs, crammed into a plastic bag like contraband baguettes. These delicate pasteries full of potential were practically begging for one of those nice, cozy boxes all the other pstries were getting, but no, someone decided they should suffer a fate of smushed dignity and lost toppings. Whoever masterminded this abomination of packaging choice should be sentenced to a lifetime of éclair exile, barred from touching, eating, or even thinking about éclairs ever again. Lost another star for the orange juice not being freshly squeezed 😔

I'm...not sure what happened. One of my favorite pastries in DFW has always been the Kouign-amann from Boulangerie/Village Baking Co. And if the ones I got last night aren't an aberration, those days are done. If you're familiar with a Kouign-amann, you'll know what makes them special - the pastry dough is folded with butter and sugar in between the layers to make a unique texture with a caramelized character that is out of this world. I got home last night to enjoy one, and they have more or less converted their "Kouign-amann" into a chocolate chunk muffin. It now has the consistency somewhere between the inside of a baguette and a croissant, but nowhere in the vicinity of a Kouign-amann. It makes me sad.
The only reason for a second star is that other things I got - the Laminated Brioche, the Quiche Lorraine, the Caneles de Bordeaux - were still very good quality, but those are supporting actors to what was always the star of the show.

The Zucchini pecan muffins were amazingly fresh, hearty and very delicious. They weigh a lot but are well worth the wait. The Restaurant is quaint and limited parking during morning hours. Underground Parking is $4/hrs. OR free off street.
