Only stopped by briefly here for a quick snack, got the wings, which were delicious and had a nice crisp exterior. The staff running the counter were really friendly and it was a lovely day to sit outside their shop and enjoy the hustle and bustle or Victory Park. Hopefully will be back to try some of their other menu items!

I've been to this place a few times since it's next door to my apartment. I ordered the Laotian fried rice and it was very delicious. Ive also had the shrimp blankets and they were good too.

Looking for Lao food? Go somewhere else. (Even for Thai food - go elsewhere)Food was a complete disappointment. There were so many rave reviews and this place just did not add up to it. If you are truly accustomed to asian flavors, this place should be a zero star. If you want to try your hand at asian flavors - go somewhere else.I ordered their wings, lao style papaya salad, nam khao, lao sausage, sticky rice, and jeow bong.Service - They were very friendly and had my food ready to go when I got there to pick it up. No complaints. I was in and out in less than 2 seconds. Location is nice and convienent. Its a small location so once you enter, the cash register is literally right there. Will have to dine outside if you're trying to have a sit down meal.FOODWings - Tasteless. There's fried garlic topped on the wings, but the wings itself had zero flavor. I mean - nada. Its almost like the wings were just fried, plain.Lao Sausage - I was excited for this because lao sausages are my favorite. This had, again, zero flavors. No herbs and spices that you would usually find in a well made lao sausage. It tasted like plain pork meat in a casing to sell off as "sausage". Go to a true lao restaurant for the real deal. Can't be passing this off as "lao sausage".Papaya Salad (Lao Style) - I specifially ordered lao style because I like the crab paste and if they choose to include, padaek. All the funk, dark color, and flavors. This.. was definitely not lao style. Maybe thai style but a far cry from lao style. Not even remotely close. It was mostly a lime flavor. That is NOT what a papaya salad should taste like.Nam Khao - This was maybe the only dish that had some flavors and was passable. Its a little to sweet for nmm khao, but its close. Wouldn't buy it from here again though.Sticky Rice - Cant really go wrong here except they did. Sticky rice was EXPENSIVE compared to just about anywhere else. And what did I get for paying $5? 2 tiny balls wrapped in saean wrap, thrown into a larger paper box. The amount of rice recieved should have costed only $1. It was a ridiculouy small amount for anyone.Jeow bong - You can't call this jeow bong. This is NOT jeow bong. Not even close. This, instead, is the exact flavor you would use as a dipping sauce for vietnamese eggrolls. Thats it.Overall, if you want to taste true lao flavors, go somewhere else. The price and taste of food here is not worth it. Very nice staff, but I'm here for food. My critique lies within the taste of the food. I have nothing against their service as it was very professional. However, that does not change my mind nor should I be lenient on my opinions of their products - the food.

I ordered the Laotian fried rice and it’s the best fried rice I’ve ever had. They charge a dollar for soy sauce and forgot to put mine in the bag…but this has to be the best food I’ve had from a restaurant in a while so that makes up for it.

Yum!!! Fresh, fast, hot & TONS of flavor. Forever dreaming of this pad Thai *drools* ZAAP is basically a high quality pickup-style restaurant. There are two small tables outside if you're eager to eat. The food is served hot as can be, so it's perfect by the time you get home. I have had a lot of pad thai, mostly in the Midwest unfortunately, so this was the most delicious flavorful pad Thai of them all. I even got my hesitant foodie boyfriend hooked on it!!!

I can't rate Zaaps any higher! The food is fantastic. The service is fast. I love the Laotian chicken fried rice. I would recommend this spot to anyone looking for a quick and easy bite in Victory Park.

Hands down best Thai place in the area. Have ordered from Ka, Mint, and a plethora of other Thai places. Not saying those aren’t decent options but Zaap tastes much fresher and accommodates any special instructions provided. Cheers to the staff/chef!

I heard good things about Zaap in general so I decided to try out this branch that was near me!I ordered some food online and picked it up in person before eating at one of their two outdoor tables. There's not much more seating since it's on the smaller side, just as a heads up. The food was tasty though - I arrived late and so my food was a bit cold, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. Everything was well packed as well. I would definitely try it again!
