One of the best places to eat in Danbury!
The wait staff were so sweet. I had fried shrimp and catfish and it was excellent. My husband had chicken fried steak and it was so tender and delicious!
1st time coming here..and it was great!
Really great food in a small town.
Family atmosphere with country cooking. Good and affordable.
Went for lunch with a friend on a Wednesday. Not many folks in the dining area. Waitress was there quickly and took our drink order. The drinks (iced teas) came quickly. We placed our orders both of which was to include a salad. We waited for the salads since they usually serve the salad while we wait on the entree. No salad came. When the entrees came we had to ask for our salads. We each had a baked potato. No butter was placed on the potato, just a small dab of sour cream, a few threads of cheese and a crumb or two of bacon. The entree was equally disappointing as far as the fried catfish. Thin strips of over fried fish, shrimp fairly good. Hushpuppies were gummy and not edible. Food used to be outstanding but not so on this day.

Good old home cooking. We got the lunch special. Chicken fried chicken, with corn on the cob, mashed potatoes and gravy with a sheet cake for dessert.
It was all very tasty .
Price was fair for all you got.

We grew up in Angleton but now live out of state. We used to eat at Filipp's a lot. We ate there while visiting and the chicken fried steak was just like we remembered! Was delicious as always. So good to come home to great Texas food!!!
