I might be biased but I like Golden Chick I was passing through Del Rio. Its location on the main highway right in town 10/10 for customer service and food a was hot a good.

I was ordering a combo meal and asked for a breast and wing (which I know it’s extra $ and it’s fine by me) . The young lady told me she couldn’t do that and all combo meals are only thigh and leg. I’ve been going to golden chicken for several years, and regularly order with no issues . I don’t think I’ll be returning anytime soon. FYI I do recommend the fried okra at golden chick . I’ve had fried okra at another competitor’s chicken restaurant, and it’s typically burnt and dried out.

Ordered online. Message said it was ready. I went in and had to wait over 45 minutes in line. There were only 4 ppl ahead of me and it still tool over 45 minutes to tell them I had an online order. Then they started to make my order. Finallu got my food about an hour after I placed my order.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. 1. Staff looks worn out. 2. Woman serving wasn’t wearing gloves or hairnet and she was touching the inside of the gravy cups as she served 3. The man at the counter had gloves on but touched food after giving out cash with the same gloves. 4. Food was uncovered and there were lots of flies around. 5. Chicken was tough and chicken sandwiches dough was soggy. 6. Dudes with beards and no beard net. Don’t know if it’s required but definitely looked like they were mouth breathing on everything. For those who are not from the area keep driving there’s a chick-fil-à further up ahead. Don’t waste your time and money.

If I could give them less than one star, I would. This restaurant is unlike any other Golden Chick I have ever visited. Service is poor, the restaurant smells dirty and the chicken pieces are tiny and tasteless.

I normally LOVE Golden Chick but this time the customer service and food preparation did not measure up. The person that served us seemed distracted and annoyed from the beginning. He could not get our order straight, after getting it straight he came back twice because they were out of items, we had to revise our order with substitutions, then when he brought our order out he forgot two items so we had to go in. On top of that the buns on our sandwiches were cold and the chicken was only slightly warm; even though, we had to pull aside and wait because he supposedly had to cook the chicken. The sandwich assembly was messy. He was not friendly. Maybe he was having a bad day but there was no real apology or attempt at making our experience right.
