El Matador is our favorite family choice for Mexican food (I am from the Rio Grande Valley; I know authentic Mexican food!). The service is always quick and friendly, and the food and drinks are relatively inexpensive for the local area of Denton. I highly recommend this lovely restaurant!

I the servers are so sweet, the margaritas were delicious, I got the mango margarita hubs got the strawberry margarita,yummm For dinner I got the carne asada plate which was so tender and flavorful- which is hard to find, I'll definitely have that again. Babe got the brisket taco plate- that brisket was so tender and juicy it was amazing! I can't wait to go back ?
Great Tex Mex restaurant in Denton. Service was great! Place decorated for dis de los muertos. Nice touch. No to the food & drinks. Frozen Margarita never fails me. We had the ground beef- sour cream chicken enchilada plate- ground beef taco salad- brisket burrito plate. All good & very flavorful. Heathy portions had a good price! You won’t be disappointed! Highly recommend!

Pretty much your run of the mill Tex Mex food, my waitress got my order slightly wrong but it was decent never the less. We got lots of refills and the chips and salsa were delicious. Food was priced fairly for what we got so all in all this place is 10x better than the last time I tried it about 10 years ago. I would come back and order something different.

The Verde sauce here is excellent! Definitely get the enchilada plate and choose the Verde sauce
Vegetarian options: You can omit meat from anything here. Most food options offer chicken, steak, pork, beef but I always just ask for cheese only enchiladas or say no meat add beans instead... Or just say no meat.
Parking: This restaurant is part of an outdoor mall so there's a large parking lot in front of the restaurant but connects to parking for their neighboring shops. The parking lot is really for the whole plaza. You can park at one end and walk to the restaurant if the parking was full.

Very friendly staff, from the time we entered until we left. We ordered from the lunch menu. The taco was fresh and delicious. I highly recommend the sour cream chicken enchilada. The flauta was crispy and delicious. I can't wait to try out different items from the menu.
