The place is well-decorated, it has a large patio, I ordered the aguachile and I really liked it.

There's so many really bad Mexican restaurants in dallas. This one was closer to what you might get at an authentic place. Beans seemed to be from a can ans rice was white. Tacos and drinks were good though. It was crazy packed with children running around screaming.

It’s not really bad, but it’s not an authentic Mexican food not even the flavor of Mexico. To pricy for the quality and flavor

I don't like to speak badly of the work of others, I will only say that the flavor of their grilled tacos tastes like nothing and for the high price they have, they would be a good experience.

El Taco H (El tlacuache), which means the opposum in Spanish, is a modern young-vibes restaurant with great food and good atmosphere. The food was great, however, I gave it 4 stars and not 5 because the pineapple they put on top of my al pastor tacos was completely uncooked. Not grilled, not roasted, not cooked with the meat but just added on top as a garnish. The tacos Al pastor were overall good, but they could be elevated to the next level if they grilled or roasted the pineapple especially mixed into the meat to give it the extra umph.

I actually quite didn’t like my experience. Two tacos and a margarita was $18. No sides, no sauces given with the tacos. The meat was great tasting. But no queso fresco sprinkled no nothing? They were out of the ocean water so was suggested the passion fruit margarita, it was absolutely disgusting. Strong, but disgusting to the point where I hated drinking it. I don’t think I’d be back after my experience. Staff was nice, tacos came out quickly but just really bland and nothing to set this place apart.

I like this place before last night. I ordered a plan quesadilla because I am vegetarian. The quesadilla came out and it had meat in it, so my husband took it up to the front. My husband informed the girl at the front it wasn’t supposed to have meet in the quesadilla, the girl rolled her eyes and took it from him.

3 minutes later the quesadilla was brought to us..they had just picked most of the meat out of the one they had already given to us in the first place.

To me that is poor service all around, this is a bummer because I liked this place before.

Great taco place with great atmosphere! I had the chilaquiles & a Barbacoa taco. Chilaquiles were excellent- a little spicy but good. The taco had a good flavor but a little greasy. I will be back. Service was outstanding! Definitely recommend.

Idk, you tell me. Does this look like $40 worth of food to you? Dont get me wrong, the food is good. They just charge a lot and dont give you very much of it. Look at how much green sauce they graciously let me have. I've never had anything that didnt taste good. I'm also still hungry when I'm done. I'm not someone who eats alot. They are open late and conveniently located close to the bars. The food is good enough that I come back every couple months.

I ordered the birria tacos and they didn't give me the consome. They didn't answer their phone the first 2 times I called, but when I finally got ahold of someone they said they wouldn't give me the consome. The staff is very rude and the food is very dry.

Overall this was a first and last visit, unfortunately. The manager up front was a great guy but after he walked away the young man and Lady up front that were taking my to go order were awful. I ordered 2 quesa birria meals, 2 pina drinks and 2 bottles cokes to go- told them to hold the drinks until the food was ready and I would take it all out at once. Why when I was getting ready to leave and asked for my drinks the girl gave me such a hard time as if I was asking for free drinks?! I had to have her pull up the order since I didn't receive a receipt so she could "verify"the drinks I ordered with her and the guy 20 minutes previous! The little salsa area with the Serrano peppers is great, i wish all restaurants had this option especially with the serranos to go, as we were in the process of moving and had no groceries at home, so this saved me a trip to the store for our dinner that we ordered. The meal was VERY tiny, if you are hungry, stay away from the quesa birria tacos, unless you want to put in 3 orders for 1 person.... and for what they charge, it was infuriating. Had I checked the order before I left, I would have asked for a refund. I asked for extra cheese on the tacos- you know, so it's melted on the food... nope, I got a side of shredded cheese? In which i was charged and little over $4 just for extra cheese, makes no sense. The rice was very bland, the meat in the tacos had no seasoning, and the beans were bland as well. The consome was such a small portion and you typically get a bit of meat and hominy in the broth anywhere we've ordered, but not here. For $60 (2 meals, 2 pina drinks, 2 Mexican cokes), we most certainly will not be back, which is sad bc the atmosphere is great, there is a lot of potential here. Just not the right head of house to make sure everything is up to par.

El Taco H Review

We had dinner at El Taco H Last night in downtown Denton. We have been a couple times before but not in quite awhile, probably our first time there this year. Overall it was a fantastic meal, the food was delicious, super flavorful and on point. Portions were generous, and we love the salsa bar. Their selection of salsas is excellent, they aren’t messing around. Their habanero salsa is delicious with an appropriate amount of spice. Their avocado salsa will getcha, it’s super spicy 🌶️ but delicious!

We had two taco plates which is 3 tacos with rice and beans and our son had the XL
Grande burrito 🌯 which is enormous to say the least. As you can see it nearly took up the whole tray!

For the taco plates we did Al Pastor, Barbacoa, Carnitas, and Birria. All were excellent, though they were a little greasy, not a complaint just an observation. The grease added flavor but if your anti-grease be warned. The grease was likely from the birria and barbacoa, so could avoid that if you order different tacos. I’m a huge fan of al pastor, and their Al pastor is excellent, did not disappoint. 🌮

The burrito had carne asada in it and was very good, definitely more than enough for one person and we took an entire 2nd half home for leftovers.

The rice was ok, not special but average.

The charro beans 🫘 on the other hand were fantastic! A real standout, tons of flavor. I’m not usually a one to eat the beans and will often ask for double rice instead but I loved these beans!

We also had a Sangria and Watermelon Agua Frescas. The sangria was delicious, the watermelon agua fresca was good but a little too sweet for my taste.

The only con and the only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is the price. 💲💲 While the food was very good the price was a bit on the high side, I’d say worth it, but definitely something you need to be prepared for. The entire meal was $80 for 3 people.
