The sushi is so fresh and tasty. The specialty rolls contain quality ingredients and great flavors. The Texas roll and the Cherry Bomb are two of my favorites. We have been going here since 2018 and they are consistenly great.

We showed up right before they closed and they were still very gracious and had great service. The fried rice portion is very large, the sushi was wonderful and the stuffed mushroom is fantastic. Everything was very fresh with great flavor. We will definitely be back!

changed my 5 star review to a 1 .. I eat here on a monthly basis even weekly at one point in time.. came in today and they changed the menu .. there was a 10 pc sushi and California roll special for 27 dollars I ordered all the time.. its gone now. was informed I could still order it off the lunch menu with an up charge for a few dollars .. when I tried that they said it was 10 pieces for 30 dollars and then the additional charge for the roll ... then the sweet tea tastes like it has 30lb of sugar with 10lb of tea. Looked in the menu for the dicon radish roll its gone too..

I got the Crazy Monkey roll as take out. Service very nice. The roll was disappointing. The rice amount i really liked, not too much. The avocado, if it was there, u couldn't see it at all. The cucumber was like 3 little strands if that. The end piece looked like ok amount of salmon which they list as #1 ingredient but the rest, it disappeared. What was in an overly amount, not in a good way,was this mushy crab that tasted a bit like straight mayo. It was like 75% of the roll. Way unbalanced. Just call it a crab roll w hints of salmon, avo, n cucumber. I tried to just bite the salmon part w the veg hint n throw away the rest. Maybe other rolls r different but too many other sushi places that have more balanced rolls like they list on menu.

If I could give J Sushi in Denton more than 5 stars, I would. We rolled in deep—with a whole crew of adults and kids (aka chaos on legs)—and they didn’t just handle it, they owned it.
The food? Phenomenal. Every roll was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully put together. Even my picky eaters left with new favorites, and that alone deserves a standing ovation. 🍣👏
But the real showstopper? The service. Handling a large group with kids is usually a nightmare waiting to happen, but their staff turned it into a dream. Patient, kind, on top of everything—like it was second nature. They made us feel welcome, not like a burden, and that’s rare. Honestly, the service wasn’t just 10/10… it was “raise the scale, break the dial, and reset the bar” good.
J Sushi is now officially in our rotation. If you’re in Denton and you want an experience that’s as memorable as it is delicious, this is your spot.

I use to love this place but it seems they're staring to fall into bad habits. I truly hope the best for this spot. However, the first issue I had with this place was that my salmon was overcooked. I'm hoping this was just a one time thing and I will amend my review the next time I come in. For presentation purposes, I don't think having all your to-go stuff in front, visible to the public is a good image. In lament terms, it's trashy. Please, take a good look at the front of entrance from the perspective of a customer. I come in, I see mounds of to-go bags, an entire station where your hosts are bagging Door Dash and whatnot, several extra lengthy tables placed in front of the sushi bar. I'm not sure who is managing this place but this is absolutely lazy. I'm holding you to a higher standard here because I truly think you are the best sushi spot in Denton. Do better. Don't be lazy. I have visited many other sushi restaurants in the DFW area that have a much better vibe than this place and cost significantly less. But as far as city location goes, this place is the best. Don't take advantage of it though. Fix your front door piston return rather than placing a sign that explains to new-comers to force open the door because it's so hard to open. PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR RESTARAUNT. I don't place any blame on your employees. But whoever is the owner. CARE. MORE. This place is absolutely lazy.

J Sushi is hands down one of the best dining experiences I've had! The sushi was fresh, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. Our server, Rico, made the night even better with his friendly personality, attention to detail, and excellent recommendations. He really went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect.
