Everything was phenomenal. The only hiccup was the rabbit pasta dish was a little undercooked, and when we mentioned it to our waiter, he immediately got it checked and the chef recooked the dish. It was even taken off our bill which was very kind. Every dish was delicious and love that the menu changes! I wish we were closer so I could come more often. It’s about an hour drive from where I am, but wow was it worth it!!!!

This place is such a gem. Thoughtful dishes, kind staff, and a cozy atmosphere. I have a dairy allergy, and they went above and beyond to make sure the menu was clear for me on what would work well for my needs. Such a great experience.

Lucky to be a repeat guest. Chefs menu continues to amaze and impress every time. Seasonal, hand crafted pasta shapes you’ve never seen, and entrees you’ll want to share and order another to take home. Never would I think a duck liver pate would be my favorite appetizer but glad to be proved wrong. Ben our server, lovely and knowledgeable as always. I have dubbed him the Sinatra of italian food with his sultry and clear descriptions of the menu. Trust him, and other servers on the wines. Italy grows 5000 different grapes. Tell them what you lean towards enjoying and they’ll guide. When dining here I would suggest to let the staff lead you, there are very few places like this that exist. You wont recognize half of the words on the menu and that’s okay. They take good care of making a meticulously crafted menu that will fit all palates and hearts.

Sit, drink, be merry and tip your server.

Absolutely delicious food and great selection of wine. We loved how personable and knowledgeable our waitress, Victoria, was. She explained the menu and recommended her favorites, which were all really great. We can't wait to come back and try more dishes! If you're able to get a reservation, do it!!!!

The menu changes daily, but we got the focaccia bread, warm olives, cheese-stuffed peppadew peppers, and salami board to start, risotto and lamb dishes as mains, and the vanilla cake for dessert. Delish!

My wife and I discovered Osteria il Muro earlier this year and have been eager to secure a reservation ever since. I was relieved when they announced they would be releasing daily slots for the subsequent upcoming month, but I often forgot to check or was too busy with work to get to the page in time. By sheer luck last night, I opened the page and found am open slot due to a cancellation. Without hesitation, I booked it, and we were on our way 15 minutes later.

Everything was spectacular. While I can be skeptical of overwhelmingly positive reviews, the fact that Osteria il Muro stays fully booked is a testament to just how good it is.

We started with the focaccia bread, which could have been a meal on its own. It was soft and fluffy with a perfectly crisp shell. The cultured butter, topped with fresh salt, harmonized beautifully. We also tried the fried squash blossoms, which are often mentioned in reviews—and for good reason. I had never experienced a dish quite like this. The presentation was appealing, but the flavor surpassed even that.

For our entrees, we had the ricotta gnocchi and the tagliatelle al ragu. Both were exceptional. The gnocchi, made with ricotta and flour instead of potato, was extra fluffy, light, and soft. The sauce was decadent, with guanciale, and chili crisps adding just the right amount of heat without being overpowering. The tagliatelle was clearly homemade, with a rich and deeply flavorful sauce. Both portions were generous, but I would have gladly eaten more.

We wrapped up our evening by sharing the torta della nonna for dessert. We debated between that and the bombolini but chose the torta for its lighter, refreshing lemon notes—a perfect punctuation to our meal.

I will gladly keep refreshing the reservation page to ensure we have the chance to dine here again in the future!

Parking: There seem to be an appropriate number of parking spaces for the size of the restaurant.

Wheelchair accessibility: Handicap parking spaces available as well as a ramp to the restaurant entrance.

Anyone who appreciates farm to table dining, authentic Italian flavor, seasonal dishes, and an intimate dining experience, Osteria il muro is Denton’s #1 choice. Maybe even all of Texas.
Ben, our server, was knowledgeable, professional and courteous.
There aren’t enough words to describe how incredible Osteria il muro truly is. As someone who has family that is first generation Italian/American, and visited multiple places in Europe, Chef Scott Girling is giving Denton something truly special.
If you haven’t had the opportunity to dine with Osteria il muro, make a reservation and prepare for one of the best dining experiences you’ve ever had.
Thank you chef and thank you to the Osteria il muro team for such a memorable experience.
