Picone Denton did something special for my family and deserves this shout out. My mother unexpectedly passed on Dec 1 and we've been obviously struggling with the new normal. My mom was from Brooklyn NY, and though we are not Italian, her neighborhood was and because of that we had a tradition. Mom made Braciole for the holidays. In my life, only once have I ever seen a restaurant offer it, and that's Picone.
Maybe because it is a family food that is either not cost effective for restaurants, or too personalized by family to please wide audiences? Dunno. But to me, its Mom...and for the first time in my nearly 50 years, it's gonna be Christmas without both. I saw them offer it as a special last week asked Tony Neglia for the next time they're offering it expecting to watch their calendar. instead, he said "come on Saturday." He fed my family, and wouldn't take money for it (I hope the tip I left for the Coke I bought offset the food cost). One part Picone, one part love letter from mom - our family's hearts were full. So, Thank you Chef Tony, to the whole Picone team, I'm a customer for life and so grateful for the gesture.
If you read this far, and you haven't had the deliciousness that is Picone, Please give them a shot this week. If not just for the amazing fare, but because they represent an old-time ideal of a restaurant that is serving the community.

Chef Tony is always offering up something different from his interpretations of Italian inspired cuisine. We’ve been coming for quite a while now and always have to share so we can try more dishes. He handles sauce like a boss, handles meat with some heat, and kills the pasta like something that rhymes with pasta (?)! It’s casual, staffed by great folks, and really never disappoints. As 35 year Denton foodies, we’re so glad he opened up shop!

We enjoyed a wonderful birthday dinner for my dad and everything was perfect! We sat on the enclosed patio and it was very comfortable. They accommodated our group of 7 graciously. Highly recommend!

Loved the vibe. Staff was awesome. I had the chicken parm marsala and my bf had the smash burger. We shared the burrata. Everything was good. I think the chicken parm was flavored really well although it wasn't really my style, I could still tell that it was made well and balanced, fresh and didn't deter me from wanting to try everything else on the menu. The burrata was amazing. There was even a customer with a baby goat eating outside that just made my whole life better.

So delicious. The burger is top notch. The chicken parm Alfredo is one of the best we've had. And big enough for 2 meals. Small quaint location. Counter service style. Canned drinks.
Haven't had the chance to sit down here yet but we ordered the Crispy Potatoes and Chicken Parm Alfredo and it was some of the best food I've ever had so regardless it's definitely worth checking out.
