We ordered through door dash, my order took an hour just to prepare it. They forgot my menudo, they forgot to add tortillas with my barbacoa and I ordered bean and cheese pupusas for the kids and they gave us ONLY CHEESE. They screwed up my entire order. This is not the 1st time, I figured I'd give them another try but this was the last time. I called and service was not it. The food was so good. I wanted to lie and tell everybody it wasn’t good, so I could keep it all to myself.😩🤣
Is it Mexican or bbq? Yes. Great food, great bakery- so the staff is small so service isn’t fast. Absolutely worth the wait. Great bbq - everything from chicken to ribs, great salsa, Mexican food is on point. Kid friendly. Owner is a stand up guy. Always nice to the kids. I recommend for a not rushed night and pack your patience- the reward is great food with friendly service.

Cristo Rey Restaurant & Bakery offers a cozy dining experience with a variety of flavorful options. Their $1.35 mini tacos, available in different meat choices, come packed with tasty fillings and are served with fresh cilantro, onions, and diced peppers. Customers often mention the very fresh and flavorful guacamole, along with their delicious red and green sauces. The restaurant also features a well-stocked bakery section with a tempting selection of pastries, where the pan dulce is particularly praised for being very good and soft. The horchata is noted to be a bit too sweet, while the cucumber and watermelon aguas frescas are described as delicious.
Guests enjoy the sizzling fajitas and recommend the steak tacos, gorditas, brisket sandwich, and baby back ribs. The coffee is fantastic, and the bakery items like pan dulce are praised for being soft and good. The sliced brisket sandwich receives high praise, described as absolutely awesome and better than the big corporate BBQ chains, and also cheaper. Some customers mention that the restaurant can be a little disorganized and that wait times can be long, but many believe it is well worth the wait. The staff is friendly and humble, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Customers appreciate the excellent bread, flavorful dishes, and the cozy environment, making Cristo Rey a popular choice for both dine-in and takeout.
