Desert Door Distillery

Felt less casual than I would expect from a distillery. Not a lot of parking. Cocktails were good. I got the sotol flight to try them all but probably wouldn't drink the sotol neat in the future.

Great staff, drinks, and atmosphere! The complimentary Saturday valet is a nice touch too.

Really different… and great! Sotol is similar to tequila, but more earthy. I loved the oak aged sotol-much closer to whiskey. Erin was great- knowledgeable and helpful. I had the flight and my wife had the margarita flight.

First trip to Desert Door🌵first time tasting Texas Sotel, it’s Amazing!🥃 Had to pick up few bottles To-Go. Desert Door staff is on top of thier game, Great customer service. Special shout out to Jo! She knows how to roll out the visitors red carpet. We will BE BACK!

10/10 as voted by all 4 of us first timers who happened to be driving by. Still talking about it the next day! Staff is knowledgeable and attentative, drinks are amazing, and sweet potato fries are the best ever! Cute interior, great outside space with enjoyable music. We will be back, many times!

Visited this Saturday on a whim and was thoroughly impressed! The space was spacious and airy, with a lovely jazz band playing (not too loud!). Fantastic drinks and the food truck had the best waffle fries I’ve ever had. I’d give 10 stars if I could!

So in March/April, they have Margarita Madness and every week there is a competition between 4 margaritas the staff have created. It is the best thing to do in the spring in Central Texas!

When I was on the hunt for a distillery to celebrate my birthday, I came across Desert Door website. I had never been before but the aesthetic and vibe called to me. I was also intrigued to learn more about SOTOL. Holy smokes y’all, I couldn’t have been happier with that decision and our experience!!! Let me tell you, David was wonderful to work with. He made sure we were all able to get our Distillery tour tickets for the time slot we wanted, had a picnic table reserved for our group right near the great band, and had no problem with us bringing in cupcakes. From the moment we arrived the entire staff was on their A- Game!! The services was exceptional and friendly, (which is not easy with a large group of ladies). The drinks were flowing - lovingly crafted and so delicious + beautiful. I highly recommend the Comanchero and Kate’s Favorite. Lo Salvaje food truck was also outstanding and paired perfectly with the DD cocktails. The Wild Delicious Sweet Potato Waffle fries fully loaded with boar chile and cheese are a must and dangerously good. Mmmmm! The other absolute highlight of my birthday was KATE THE GREAT and the tour she provided. We were a big ROWDY group of ladies, and the fun we had and all the laughs that were shared will be cherished when I think back on this birthday. “Well-behaved women seldom make history” Thank you, Desert Door and my new DD amigos, for making my birthday one for the books!!!!

Go on the tour! Our tour guide, Kate, was so knowledgeable, funny, and extremely personable! The cocktails were fantastic!

First of many visits! Kate was amazing with the knowledge of not just the desert door selections, but she was also knowledgeable of the flavor profiles and flow. Kate was impressive on every level. She is also the only reason why I am fully invested in Desert Door Sotol. After such a high energy tour I have nothing but high praise! Thank you ma’am for the knowledge and generosity 5* without a doubt!

Had an awesome tour. Our exceptional guide Kate made it very educational, had lots of Dad Jokes, and we were lucky enough to experience this with a good tour group. I reccomend Desert Door Distillery to any and everyone!

All of the employees, from the valet parking attendants to the bartenders are so friendly. I traveled from out of state to experience sotol and the distillery was the highlight of my trip! I had reserved a tour online, but showed up 1 hour early, and they allowed me to do the tour earlier. Kate, was friendly, funny, and detailed when she showed me around the distillery and explained the history of Desert Door. I recommend the tour, tasting, gift shop, and relaxing at the distillery.

I just got to meet one of the tasters for desert door. His name was Chase. A very knowledgeable man made my experience was amazing he knew his product. I don’t even like The style of tequila he had me taste, but that product was amazing and he knew what the pair with my new favorite drink. You can drink it straight. It’s so smooth and I would’ve never tried it if it wasn’t for his persistence, an amazing personality and he was patient with me so To whom ever this may concern the taster for Desert door at Total Wine off of hulen needs a Pay increase because he exceeds expectations
