Our large group had a reservation, but because we had about 10 extra people join us at the last minute, we had to wait 30 minutes to get 4 big 8-person picnic tables close together. Food was wonderful and staff were friendly and quick. You can split your bill 4-ways per table. Salt Lick winery is adjacent, so you can order bottles of wine and beer for your table. Very enjoyable experience!

Stopped by Salt Lick Cellars and it was a really chill, tasty experience. The wine tasting was a highlight — I loved sipping their Tempranillo, Mourvédre, and BBQ Red & BBQ White blends while relaxing under the oaks.
Plus, it’s right next to the iconic Salt Lick BBQ, so the aroma of smoked brisket, ribs, sausage, and the classic sides (potato salad, coleslaw, beans) was in the air — such a perfect combo of great food and wine.

One of my favorite places to go for barbecue. There is better barbecue in Texas but ALL barbecue is good and most doesn’t come served under a huge live oak in the center of the Texas hill country. Don’t forget your cooler of beer!!

Salt Lick is some of the best BBQ in Texas. Always delicious. Their picnic area is a great place for relaxing with the family, under misters, and enjoying some extraordinary BBQ. Always a pleasure to find an excuse to visit their Driftwood location.

Bbq was good but not the best I've had. I really loved the environment. Family friendly, great service considering how big that place is. I would go back if I was in the area

I want to make it very clear I hate bbq sauce. I hate the entire concept. I firmly believe if you need sauce on your bbq then you don’t know how to bbq. I was proven wrong today. I tried the sauce and couldn’t stop. The bbq was still amazing by itself. The ribs, the brisket, and the sausage were done beautifully. The texture of the ribs were not completely consistent, but the flavors very much were.

Food: fantastic! There's nothing on the menu I haven't tried. My favorite go to is the smoked turkey (dipped in the bbq sauce of course!), coleslaw, potato salad and peach cobbler (yum!) You can go the cellar adjacent to the restaurant and purchase a bottle (or bottles) of wine and bring it in (the restaurant is byob) and they will bring an ice bucket to your table for it, which is cool!
Service is and has always been great. Ashley T. was attentive, friendly and helpful!
Atmosphere is a nice, back yard in the hill country patio vibe. Looking forward to our next visit!
