Since going here back in the ‘90’s, every other BBQ restaurant is compared to Salt Lick. So far, I haven’t found anything that beats it. Some have come close but Salt Lick is still King of Texas BBQ.

Delicious bbq. I ordered the Thurman's Choice plate to get to try the big 3 - brisket, ribs, sausage.

This place is a vibe and I'm here for it. I can't explain it, but it feels like your at your family's backyard BBQ. It's comfortable and everyone who works there just welcomes you. I've been told this place gets super busy, luckily I came on a down time. Mikey knew I was visiting from out of town so he gave me a ton of recommendations of things to see and places to go in town. He then sent me over to their cellar, which is where they have beer and wine tasting. The ladies over there let me sample a couple of their wines. I will definitely be back when I'm in town.

Awesome location and setup. Looks like a legendary bbq joint. The food? Horrible! Pork ribs were dry and way too chewy. Sliced brisket is meh. A little dry and bland. Sides were all not very good. I think you’re coming for the experience, not the quality of the food.

I have heard legends of The Salt Lick for a long time. Personally, I think most Texas BBQ gets talked about with a bit too much hyperbole, but that may just be the Okie in me talking.

Well, I finally had the chance to try The Salt Lick, and I gotta say…

Believe the hype.

It was better than I could have imagined.

Seriously, so of the best BBQ I’ve ever had anywhere. Got to try the sausage, the pulled pork, the turkey, and, my favorite, the Bison ribs.

Check this out if you have the chance. Amazing food and great atmosphere!

Ribs and Brisket tender and full of flavour. Sausage too. Server was quick, food was quick & friendly The manager Chasity (did I spell that right?) was awesome. Bought this cool T-Shirt. Big property with lots to do before or after your meal.
