This was a great location for a family outing. We went for the brunch and stayed for the live music. Service was great and there was plenty of seating. It had been added to my list of spots to go to with family and friends.

Kid-friendliness: It is kid friendly.

Phenomenal. If you want a brewpub that provides great beer and a serene atmosphere, this is it. First time visiting, but their brewers know what they are doing. If you make the trek out here you will not be disappointed. The Dark Sky, Daycation and Fireside are our reccos. Food was excellent. Had the Crispy chicken sandwich and the kids burger. Kids burger a bit on the slider size but our son still inhaled it.

Vista needs to know that its not right to advertise they are having events and then not actually have them. On two separate occasions they advertised music and an art market that didn't exist when I arrived. You bring people in the door and then you rug pull. Its not right. I wasn't going to say anything after the first time, but had to after the second. Totally wasted my afternoon 2x. Its ok if you have to cancel an event, but you should remove it from your site and advertising partners immediately. Super lame.

WHAT A GEM.

First impression? Way bigger than I expected.

Second impression? My flight of beer was beyond delicious and the food paired with it was absolutely yum. (Beers: Barton Creek Gold, Dark Skies Black Pilsner (TO DIE FOR), Middle Trinity, and Lorenzo), Food: Cheese plate.

Third impression? If you aren’t here on a lazy Saturday, Sunday, or even a weekday... what are you even doing with your life?

After enjoying our drinks at the picnic tables under the old trees, we wandered the grounds. There’s a huge playground, a spacious beer garden, an intriguing apiary with info on bees, and an impressive farm where they grow produce for the kitchen. Yes... their produce, straight from the garden to your plate. Amazing.

We took our time, soaking it all in—no rush, no agenda, just good vibes. Absolutely worth the drive.

Towards the end, we got a special treat... we met the owners! Kent lit up when talking about the beer, how it's made, and why it’s special. On his recommendation, we tried a wine barrel-aged Stonewall with just a hint of peach. Mind. Blown. (Seriously, we grabbed some to go.) Karen, meanwhile, seems to handle just about everything else—including the bees.

All in, I can’t recommend this place highly enough. The staff was welcoming and knowledgeable, and the whole experience was just... easy. In the best way.

Vegetarian options: Definitely a variety of vegetarian options.

Parking: Wind down a road and think "where the heck am I?" but then realize it was winding because they were keeping all the trees. There is TONS of parking. You won't have an issue.

Kid-friendliness: Huge, lovely playground. They also apparently have live music and plenty of space for a kid to have great fun.

Wheelchair accessibility: Paths are well groomed with direct entrances into the tasting area, bathrooms, brewery area, and picnic tables.

Have been there numerous times and always disappointed. Their so called Kölsch or Helles does not even come close to the originals in Germany.

Takes a bit to get there and entrance can sneak up on you, but once there this is a wonderful rustic brewery. Everything you'd expect, down to the trowel in the bathroom. Friendly staff good selections of food and beer. Lots of variety in the beer so everyone should find something they like. Black Lager, Dark Skies, crushed it for us. Had to grab a 4 pack togo.

Parking: Dirt/gravel parking lots. Compacted sufficiently for strollers and chairs, but don't expect to roller skate.

Good gluten free and celiac friendly options, they have gluten free wine and Cider along with their beer options. The kitchen has choices that are gluten free, and also very tasty. The staff makes the experience very comfortable to ask about options and what can be ordered gluten free. The place has great outdoor seating and family style indoor seating.

Dietary restrictions: They have wine cider and food options that are gluten free and celiac friendly.

Some of the best beer in Austin. Cleanest taste and multiple styles. Hard not to buy their aged collaborations with wineries.

I have exceptionally high hopes (expections) for this establishment. Maybe that's my problem. The past 4 or 5 times here, I left disappointed.
Today's example: The Holiday Market, which was on the website and also advertised in a Dec 3 email, didn't exist. There was one card table with some honey, mustard, and a couple of stocking stuffers for sale. I saw NONE of the "local artisans at an indoor mini-market." I unknowingly brought an out of town guest to experience some of our Hill Country Charm. Suffice to say, it was significantly less than charming. We stayed for the delicious sounding Wagyu burgers. I was assured that mine would be prepared rare, as requested. Nope, medium-well/well (if I'm being generous). They ran out of the beer I wanted... I could go on, but why bother?
As I said, this was not the first time I had this type of experience here. I genuinely wish you well, Vista Brewing. You've got a lovely venue and a great concept, but until you work out these kinks, there are simply other amazing Hill Country venues for me to spend my money.
Good luck.

We came as a group of friends and family. The bartenders were unfriendly and catty, nearly unwilling to help guide us into a selection for a beverage.

The guitar player was decent.

The atmosphere was open and modern southwest which I fancy. Comfortable spread out seating options.

Where Vista Brewing staff could use some work:
1) Make a little effort with eye contact
2) Don't ever treat customers like they're a nuisance, as they are your bread and butter-- tips are better when you treat people like they're welcome in the establishment.
3) Don't lie and act like you don't know that at the end of every night your establishment smells worse than a portable toilet stall. Be honest and explain the putrid stench blowing in. Instead of insulting other's intelligence. You knew why it smelled -- what you did was wrong and spiteful.
4) My friend bought a cactus 🌵 glass and apparently they weren't supposed to begin being sold until the next day. Mr. Bartender questioned my friend's purchase very rudely. How is it her fault that she was able to buy the glass? This was something that should have been taken up with the staff not my firend.

5) The burgers are small and nothing that they are hyped up to be. Very disappointed with the size and quality, as Vista Brewing burgers are said to be amazing. They are over-priced and tiny.

In conclusion, we are likely to not return even though the property and atmosphere's esthetic is wonderful. The service, smell, and food quality all had something in common, it stunk.
