My hubby and I came across this hidden gem today. Service and food were fantastic. Would highly recommend, we will be coming back next time we are in the area.
Server took advantage of tip, insisting by not leaving our table when we were paying.. [algo incomodo]..Although he did not even bother to bring refills--For it being my first time visit, I recommend the food (ordered "fajitas")--just wish server had provided better experience.

I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley. We were not only exposed to great Mexican food locally, but also Mexican food a mere 25 miles away across the Matamoros or Reynosa border in Mexico. I paid my first visit to Sabor La Mexicana back in 2017. It quickly became my favorite go-to place for authentic Mexican food. The food quality and service are second to none.

Not sure where all the 4 and 5 reviews come from for this establishment. Nice decor. Average staff. Quick service. Food was forgettable…watery salsa, Rico’s makes better queso, 2 small balls of guacamole, chile con carne tasted out of a can, very poor example of enchiladas, industrial lime margaritas. Very disappointing…avoid.
