We stopped in on our way back to west Texas from Arlington. Immediately I knew it was going to be good. Everyone was so friendly. Jessica was our waitress but all them made sure our glasses were full and we didn’t need anything. These fried green tomatoes were delicious! Just like out of the movie! BLT was top notch. Full of bacon. And the fries were perfect. I would drive the 3 hours just to eat here again. Amazing!

DELICIOUS! I actually heard about this place from a Reddit post about places to stop on a road trip across Texas and I’m so glad I listened! It’s home cooked food, calories-not-monitored, but worth every single bite. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but I knew it was going to be good when we saw the parking lot was overflowing into the grass. Luckily there was still an open table inside and we were welcomed by the sweetest staff and our waitress was just as wonderful. So many things looked good on the menu, but I couldn’t resist ending this road trip with another taste of chicken fried steak to compare to Mary’s (and they can definitely compete because it was AWESOME)! We also tried the chicken fried chicken (delicious), sweet potato casserole (amazing), Mae’s potato casserole (tasty), cheese sticks (good), and the hamburger and fries which was obviously delicious enough that my picky daughter almost finished it - which says a LOT!
We were very glad that we’d ordered the “smaller portions” for lunch because it meant we could grab a few of the desserts to go to snack on for our final leg of the road trip and keep enjoying at home. We tried the toffee cake (incredible), peanut butter cake (sinfully good), and the coconut pie (very light and creamy)! We also snagged some items to take home with us from their coolers and I can 100% recommend their pork tamales and summer sausage. If you get the chance to stop here, you won’t regret it at all! Delicious, great service, and good portions!

Great family run dinner/meat market. Warning their BBQ sauce is very unique. My wife and I really liked it. But it’s not your normal Texas sauce. Wished we had brought a cooler to be able to take some of the steaks with us since we were just passing through. The burgers and loaded potato were really good. Amazing fries.

The food was amazing! We ordered the ribeye and hamburger steak with some delicious sides. Everything was so flavorful!
My husband and I were looking for a local place to eat while in Eastland. The steak was fabulous and so was the chicken fried steak. One of the best places we have eaten. We definitely will be back the next time we are in Eastland. The service was also great. I highly recommend Mae's.
