This El Pollo Loco is on West University Ave. and McColl, in front of the Lowes Home Improvement store. The building is relatively new and is well maintained, clean, and has a quiet, relaxing, family-friendly atmosphere.

Compared to the other two locations (McAllen & Pharr), this is the best pollo loco in the RGV. Not only the cleanest restaurant, but also the food was way better and chicken is always fresh. As I was waiting for my order, I noticed that the gentleman in the grill was making sure everything in his area was clean. That says a lot about his work and the food! Shoutout to the griller!

Had the grilled chicken: the whole meal was not delicious, but good enough. The only part of the food that was bad was the corn tortillas; they got cold almost immediately as they got to the table, it would be nice if they were served in foil paper instead of the plastic bag. They were also stuck together and not heated enough.

The service and atmosphere was decent.
