Mi Chula #2 on the north side of University Drive, between First Cash Pawn and the Famiky Dollar, is one of three locations for this small local restaurant chain. Mi Chula is a favorite among locals and is known for great Mexican food, friendly service, and reasonable prices.
I had never been to Mi Chula, but met a friend here for lunch. The inside is colorfully decorated with a Mexican theme. I was greeted as ai entered and the service was excellent throughout my meal.
I was brought a menu and the server took my drink order. They offer limonada con pepino, Coca-Cola fountain drinks, bottled Mexican sodas, and coffee.
The have a wide selection of breakfasts with chikaquiles, breakfast tacos, eggs with machacado, bacon, or chorizo, huevos rancheros, and much more. I was there for lunch and saw they have quite a few typical Mexican fare such as carne guisada, bistek ranchero, chile rellenos, steak, and many antojitos. They also offer soups like caldo Tlalpeño, and salads. I got the chile relleno with both meat and cheese. It came with rice, beans, a small salad (no salad dressing), and my choice of freshly made corn or flour tortillas. I really enjoyed my meal.
While we were dining, we were able to talk with no problem despite the background music being a tad louder than I would have preferred. Then a mariachi group came in and sang a couple of songs.
I think I found a new personal favorite. Mi Chula checks all the boxes: ambience, great service, delicious food, and good prices. I highly recommend them.

The food was super delicious. Didn't much care for the sliced sausage in my fajitas, but the rice and refried beans were out of this world. I ate them first. Next time we're in the Valley, we will stop by again.

Very clean and homey atmosphere. Staff were friendly. Food was served in a timely manner and tasted fresh. Looking forward to coming back on a Friday to try their Caldo (served only Fridays).

This place offers really good authentic mexican dishes. I got the machaca taco and papas con chorizo y huevo taco as well. My dad got the daily special that included huevos a la mexicana with potatoes, beans and incliluded beverage for $6.99. The tortillas were all handmade. Really good!
