On a road trip, I stopped at Prasek's and discovered the best kolaches at B-Jo's. I've had my share of kolaches, but the bacon and egg kolache was perfection. I also enjoyed the cream cheese kolache as well. Thanks B-Jo's!!
Love it! Kinda like Buccee's for kolaches.
The chezch bakery is authentic and delicious. The jerky is the bomb!!! Love the bbq... Very clean restaurant and restrooms!
Our friend recommended this stop and he was right on!! Fun place to pick up bakery, smoked meats, basic groceries and gifts!
I mail order meats and kolaches! The last brisket ($200) I sent one of my daughters was so salty it wasn't edible! It was like they soaked it in a strong brine before smoking it! Normally their briskets are so so good! I called them to tell them so they could keep it from happening again. The lady acted like I was lying. I thought about having my daughter mail it back to her so she could taste it but Trish said they most likely wouldn't taste it if she did. Very insulted! They just lost me! Troy Petersen
I usually stop here when passing thru and pick up specialty meats. They have been getting a bit pricey. Idk why such an increase because meat prices haven't increased nearly as fast as they have. They still have good products but I can get the same or better near my home for lots less here in south Louisiana so they have probably lost a regular customer.
For years I have looked forward to stopping here on my way to or from Houston, Texas. Previously never unhappy with the food. Visited on the 19th of January at 10:00 AM and ordered brisket sandwich and pork sandwich. Boy, was it lousy! We had taken both of them on the road to Houston and intended to eat while we traveled. The brisket was cool in temperature and simply sliced in a block, put on the bread and one slice of onion and pickle slapped together and wrapped for me. The pork was cold sliced from and end piece (several rounds) then put between sliced bread of half pumpernickel half white with no condiments or garnishes. When trying to eat, the meat fell out and the bread broke up too easily
Astronomical prices! Stopped for lunch on the way to Houston and although I’m not a fan of smoked meats, my hubby is. He was happy with his meal. I had a steak filet sandwich. I requested medium rare. It came well done. Lunch for 3 was 72$ for what I consider average at best.
If you need to make a pit stop while on the road, this is the place. Immaculate bathrooms, friendly employees and delicious BBQ. But the selection of other foods is extensive and well worth trying. I personally love their prune kolaches in addition to a large variety of delicious cookies as well as other sweets all baked in house. Then there’s a huge meat market with every type of meat imaginable, some smoked, some peppered, some jerked. You want a rub or spice or sauce for your meats, try one of theirs. You want tamales, they’ve got ‘em. Definitely worth a stop to peruse their wonderful offerings.
Love this place! Dining area surrounded by sausage, cheese and meat counters. The 2-meat platter and sides were excellent - brisket, ribs, green beans, coleslaw, buttered potatoes and fried okra! Of the various items in the Czech bakery, we tried kolaches, cinnamon rolls and cookies - all excellent. If you need a slightly longer break from driving, there are a couple small gift shops.

We stopped in around 2:00 on a Thursday, planning to get some jerky and ham/cheese rolls. Disappointingly, they were all out of ham and cheese rolls. They did have cookies, so I thought I’d try some. That was a waste of money. They were so dry! Skip the desserts. The gentleman working at the dried meats counter was delightful and very helpful. We got quite a few different things and he didn’t stop smiling once. The young man at the register who rang us out could certainly take a few pointers from him. He was unfriendly and not helpful. It’s worth a stop if you are planning to get dried meats. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have stopped. They’ve gotten a lot bigger over the years and seem to be unable to keep the same quality of service, save the gentleman who helped us today.
Excellent place to have lunch. The brisket is delicious with very little fat. They’re sausages are yummy and so is their jerky.
I love this place. Great food, smoked meats, atmosphere and restrooms. Mr. Prasek does a lot for the community.
It is all great and you will never want to pass up the opportunity to stop. The greatest thing about visiting you can always find something you just have to have....
