I have absolutely loved this place and have consistently gone every Sunday for about a year now. I always counted on it for some great avo toast, an iced freddo cappuccino, and some tasty coffee beans to make my at home coffees. Unfortunately, lately the quality or care seems to have gone down. The eggs on my toast have been overcooked, and the coffee is somewhat bitter but also watered down. I saw the barista pour the hot shot over the ice which not only messes with the espresso but also melts the ice faster resulting in a watered down drink. Being a barista for almost 4 years I understand that sometimes there are off days and things out of your control. Hopefully the quality goes back to how it was and I return to supporting this local shop regularly again.
Visit Casa Cafetzin today. Food was excellent we had molletes, omelette, and chilaquiles, all items were good, chilaquiles were spicy 🔥 but you cannot stop eating them. Coffee is also very tasty and also you can buy it there. Will definitely go back.
Hidden gem. Staff is friendly and helpful. Great quality coffee. Barista’s passion shines through the preparation and service of your favorite caffeinated beverage. I will visit every time I am in El Paso.
Latte with oat milk was very nice. Tried and espresso seemed very bitter. The seating could be better.
Without a doubt, my favorite coffee shop in all of El Paso. It's rare in El Paso to find a specialty roaster that has rotating single origins, let alone high-quality naturals and more experimental roasts. The food is delicious; we always get the green pozole and molletes. The vibe is also rad - they play a lot of 60s/70s art rock/pop in the shop, have the walls lined with original artwork from Mexico, and sell ceramics/watercolors.
Best cappuccino in the world

I highly recommend this place!!!
Calming environment with delicious, flavorful food and beautiful artwork. It feels like you are along the coast in Mexico in a quaint cafe next to the water. Classic, modern but a vintage feel.
I had avocado toast on sourdough bread with arugula, radish, prosciutto with a side of pickled carrots and onions. The toast is slice thinner so you taste all the veggies and prosciutto.
Drink: beet/ limeade refresher that was the perfect balance of tart and a hint of sweet.

The staff there has gone to pot, they've really gotten rude toward remote workers and could use some time at a charm school. I've always been mindful of not occupying a space if it is needed, but for some reason the staff there has gotten aggressive in reminding customers that your money doesn't matter if you have a laptop. The last 2 times there I've spent just under $20.00 and yet I've not been given the respect to decide for myself if I either want to order yet another drink and then move to an uncomfortable and recently vacated counter spot or pack up and leave, I was simply just told I had to move from the table. This is a real turn-off when there is no one waiting for one and you want to assess whether to stay longer all while knowing you're not an impediment to their business.
I've visited the place on and off since it opened and I've never had an issue until their recent hire. Now, even though there are signs on the tables to signify to move to the counters, the staff doesn't want to give you a chance to decide, they just want to press the issue and rush you on. The food there is nothing spectacular and their tiny pastries are way over priced so a different venue to visit once in awhile for a latte/coffee is really the only reason for me to go there. But now their staff has ruined that. Someday they'll learn that repeat patronage and a welcoming attitude toward that patronage matters. When the only thing you hear from them is an unpolite move, it's time to permantly move along.
For those interested, there are some great alternatives out there.
Savage Goods, District Coffee, 2Ten and others are places that do much higher volumes but never make you feel unwelcomed by pushing you out the door for no good reason.

Here you have a hidden gem. This is because the ingredients to make their coffees come from Mexico and are occasionally out of stock. For example, their cacao used to make their Mocha comes from Oaxaca. It’s unlike any mocha you’ve EVER tasted. Their menu keeps expanding so it’s best to come every so often. Pictured is a matcha and orange espresso refreshers. Truly worth your time.
