I've been going to Chicos tacos for 40 years and will travel from Albuquerque to El Paso to pick them up. I travel with a large cooler and stock up.wish they would add a location here in Albuquerque...

They are not "Tacos" they are more like a greesy flauta. I would not recommend Chicos Tacos for a tourist. How embarrasing that poeple actually recommend this restuarant to out of town visitors.

I had heard so much about this place so when i was in town I had to try it out. Everyone said there were always lines out the door. There weren't the day I went and we got waited on right a way. Order at the counter then they bring it to you. We had the double which is 6 rolled tacos. Single order is three. Look just like the picture on TripAdvisor. Hard corn tortillas, rolled around chicken or ground beef topped with a lot of tomatoey souce and lots of cheese. Soak up the sauce to make the tacos easier to eat, then I was taught how the locals eat them. Fork in the end and bite off the other end. I must admit, they weren't my thing, but everyone else seemed to love them. But, its a place you have to try at least once.

Really bad nasty hard stale tasting tacos. They pour hot tomato sauce over them and top with yellow cheese. Should have bought a burger instead.

I loved this place and made it a point to get there even being from New York. This restaurant did not disappoint. Friendly staff. Worth going.

First tacos and taquitos are two different things. Your taquitos were rolled. And that would have been fine if they tasted good. I asked the employee what the filling was and was told beef. The beef was flavorless, the tortilla tasted old. It was disgusting. The cheese didn’t help at all, the broth tasted like dishwater. Took two bites and threw it away. I was amazed at the number of guests eating them up. I really expected better tasting food especially since Fluffy recommended you.

If you are coming to or going through El Paso, STOP at Chico’s Tacos! This establishment is an El Paso tradition that you NEED to experience! The home of the taquitos in tomato soup, with a ton of cheese! They have catered to celebrities, former US Presidents, and locals with the same amount of respect and service for decades. Just make sure you have cash! They don’t accept cards or checks. (They do have an ATM in the location if you don’t have cash when you come in!)

Today went to the montwood location. Tacos tasted freezer burned and cheese was very substandard. Very disappointed !

Kill me now, worst tacos in the universe. Are you kidding me?Three tacos floating in dish water!!! Dont let the long line fool you ,these tacos are garbage!!! The Sprite tasted moldy and was undrinkable. Evidently the soda dispenser inside needed a much needed cleaning. They are really trying to make that sauce go a long way,it was water.Horible,Horrible disgusting, unedible.People should not waste their time going here.Insanity that people would wait in this long line to eat these tacos.MIND BLOWING!!! The owner must be laughing all the way to bank about people buying these disgusting tacos.

Updates submitted: Free off street parking, cash only, ATM on site. The tables and floor were clean. This Dyer location is close to Fort Bliss Cassidy gate. There was a security guard inside, very alert and professional. Two 80’s era video games ( I did not see anyone at them,) Now the food: There is a lot of room for improvement on their rolled tacos ( which is their signature dish.) This is a business decision they will eventually have to make - keep the quality of our signature dish to its best quality, go further improving just that dish, and cut costs elsewhere OR lose business due to their customers’ nostalgia not being satisfied ( because we never went to Chico’s tacos just for their fries, right ?) Customers will pay more $$ to have what they remember was good.

Great little diner to grab a quick affordable bite with the family or when you're on a short lunch break from work. Went for the "rolled" tacos but will definitely be back to check out the jumbo hotdogs and hamburgers.

No Mask, no service, no go! Find somewhere else if you are looking to avoid the illogical walk from the front door to your table with a mask on just to take it off when you sit down and get your drink.

My then girlfriend who was from El Paso took me there for lunch back in the early 90s. I enjoyed it. Not traditional Mexican food but neither is Taco Bell. Still tasty. I was recently in El Paso with friends. We looked for it but couldn't find it. I will try again someday. If you're ever in Denver try The Taco House. Similar cheap tasty Mexican food.

So about 30 minutes ago I went to the Chicos on Alameda. Got some some tacos and a couple of burgers. I get home prepare my tacos which was single and this is what I was gonna eat. This tiny cup was half full for all the singles. Now the cups are tiny. I always said I rather pass on this food because it's not worth my money and time. Definitely the last time I ever go there. NEVER AGAIN. By the way, the people preparing the food don't even wear gloves, I just noticed. I'll be calling the health department Monday for sure. Shame on you Chicos Tacos

I wasn’t a fan of the dirty tables and chairs, but the burger I ordered was good, and that makes me a happy. The family I was visiting with also enjoyed their food.
