I grew up in El Paso in the early 80s, and I remember this place being one of my favorite places to eat. The food was good when we visited, but the nostalgia factor was excellent!

There's no real tacos here. Just flautas thrown in some red sauce and cheese thrown on top. Really gross. I don't understand what the hype is. Go somewhere else for actual tacos.

Food is very good. In my opinion, the tacos in Chico's are more enjoyable if you pour the green salsa over the abundant red salsa that they're served in, then alternate between a bite of taco and a sip of the mixed salsa. I'm not saying that the place lacks of cleanliness, but the trash containers and their surroundings may give a negative impression. Cash only could be a pain, there's an ATM inside the place though

Horrible food. Flautas were stale, cold, and tasted bad. Guess they are relying on the warm soup to heat them up. Chicos Tacos doesn't care about quality. They do keep raising their prices. It's now almost $5 per single order.
In the 90's, the food was so delicious. I think the memory of that is what keeps me going back.

If anyone knows the original Chico's Tacos place, but have not been here in ages, don't worry, it looks almost exactly the same, as the last time you were there. It's loud, extremely cold, and with the same sad remodeling they did back in 1980, (I'm totally guessing) it's faded, and with blinding brighter, lights, just unkempt & unloved.
As if that's not enough, Chico's Tacos prices have doubled, (maybe tripled) and are a bit out of control. I'll share this, the "Double" order is $8.88 & the "Single" $4.44, you guys do the math.
Parking: Not necessarily difficult, but more like, tricky. It's got a round about style, but it's at a busy section of the main street, which also happens to curve. It's fine, just be cautious.
Us El Pasoans love to drink our tacos and Chico's is always the place to do it.

Visited this location a couple of days ago. It pains me to give this place that holds a special place in my heart such a bad review but I had to do it. Their food is just not the same. I don't know if it's the quality of ingredients being used or the lack of love and care for the food being made. At this location in particular the rolled tacos(flautas)were awful. Very little crunch to them, almost seemed as if they didn't fry them enough, the sauce and cheese were ok. The green salsa was still good. I also got the beef stew burrito, the stew meat was tough and lacking flavor big time, the burrito itself was wrapped extremely sloppy. Was it dropped and still sent out or do they not know how to roll a burrito? Not sure. In general their food quality has gone down, I went to another location 2 weeks ago and the food is just not that good anymore, NOT WORTH their prices in my opinion. I don't appreciate them increasing their prices so much but yet the restaurants look not so clean and their food quality instead of at least staying the same has gone down. If anyone from their organization is reading this, please have your employees and management take more pride in what they are doing and putting out to the public. The fact that you all have been an El Paso staple for so long and most El Pasoans are die hard fans has kept you afloat all this time but you all need to do better. I apologize for not having pictures, I have a rule with my daughters to not have phones at the table. If you've never had Chicos , I still encourage you to check them out at your OWN RISK but if you are on a budget w/a few family members this is NOT the place to go.

The bathrooms are destroyed and the bathroom door does not close and the entire bathroom is very dirty.
