we have been going to this restaurant for decades. The owners were trained professionally in China on cooking Asian cuisine. First, they are not a cafeteria and all orders are cooked at the time the order is placed. Based on this, it is possible for someone coming in after you to be served before you depending on the order and how much prep time there is involved. Second, the restaurant was sold a few years ago and the restaurant name was kept and the new owners were trained to keep all recipes the same. I have noticed no change in any of the recipes handed down from the original orders to the new ones. While I have not tried every single recipe on the menu, it is possible the new owners may have made changes. It is their right to do so, but I have yet to notice any differences on any of the menu items we have been ordering for decades. Third, the reviews I have seen online may have indicated the staff is abrupt and or rude. I know the original owners had issues speaking English, and we enjoyed talking with them despite our cultural differences. El Pasoans like to pride themselves on cultural diversity but sometimes those cultural differences might not be tolerated as well as they could be. We believe in supporting small businesses especially those staffed with extremely hard-working people and this is such a business. The quality of the food has not changed for decades, the prices remain within reach, and the owners work tirelessly. I continue to highly rate this tiny restaurant and support them in anyway that I can. 3/17/24, we ordered several meals at once to go for the remainder of the week. The food was excellent and the to go order even included spicy hot mustard which is a minute detail, but a detail we appreciate when you get home with your order. They do an excellent job and appreciate them very much. Everything we ordered was present, nothing missing and everything was prepared perfectly.

China House is the best Chinese restaurant I have ever been to…ever. When I’m traveling, I crave this place so much! Their food is so healthy, vegetables are gorgeous, the sauces…wow…and the salad they give you free as an appetizer is out of this world! The hot sauce—-don’t get me started. I love the family who owns this place and they have very loyal waitstaff that have been there forever. I’ve been going here since they opened. Amazing…

China House has always been a place my family returns to somewhat frequently and we have never been disappointed. The portions are very generous and tasty. We do try to order something different when we go but usually stick to our favorites.

Absolutely the worst place, service and food we have had in years. We went because of a post on Nextdoor and it had to have been posted by an owner or employee. No one was there but my wife and I. Empty otherwise. As we l we left we noticed a restaurant less than a block away packed with customers.

Truly disgusting. I am sitting here hoping that I don’t get sick. I am afraid I am going to spend the night on the toilet. Seriously. The pineapple in the sweet and sour chicken was fermented. The chicken was greasy and tasted like it was a couple of days past its date. Fried rice was dry and hard as if they tried to make fried rice from instant rice; it was inedible. Stay away.

Amazing food!! Worth the drive from the east side. We had the clear miso soup, orange chicken with noodles and crab rangoons. We were sad when our plates were empty! ◡̈ lovely staff as well!

The waitress/hostess was not very welcoming. We may have walked in right before their family meal and this interrupted their schedule. There were no other customers but us. I ordered a lo mein combo and got noodles with protein, no veggies. I asked if there's any vegetables, she said "a little". There were no veggies. None. We asked for egg rolls got spring rolls. Asked for chili oil, she took it from another table. Then two other parties walked in. One party had no chili oil on their table as the waitress had given it to us. They had to ask the other party for theirs. We never got the hot mustard we asked for. We heard another employee tell the other party they had to get up and get their fortune cookies so we didn't even bother. The upside of the experience was the food came out fairly quick, the white rice was good, and there was no rush to get us out of there. I'd always seen that place, had never been there before, and I will never visit again.

Lunch specials include soup but if you don't want the soup PLEASE do not ask for soup. It will needlessly go to waste. If you do want the soup, when ordering lunch say 'I want the soup' and tell the waiter which soup you'd like. If you say nothing the assumes you don't want it.

I ordered based on a recommendation from my family. I ordered sesame chicken, seafood soup, lo mein and egg drop soup. I used the online ordering system and that was easy to use and I had no problem getting the food on time as promised. When I got the food home the egg drop soup was great. The lo mein was also great with good flavor. The sesame chicken was good until I noticed some of the chicken was bad. Some bites were great then I would get a bite of rotten chicken. The seafood soup was supposed to have scallops but it didn’t instead it had like a dumpling of some sort. It did have shrimp and imitation crab. It did not have scallops as it said on the menu. I was a bit disappointed. I’m reluctant to order here again. Make sure the food is not mixed with past due rotten food to cut corners. I paid 47.00 total for my order.

I bought the pork fried rice. Very Grease, thought it would come with some green onions and veggies. Not good.
