Came in for lunch and the place was slow, which should’ve been a good sign—but unfortunately it wasn’t.

We ordered an appetizer platter and tacos and ended up leaving hungry because the food was so bad we couldn’t eat it. The rib tips were almost all fat with barely any meat. The potatoes were overcooked and burnt. The tripitas and pastor in the tacos were undercooked. The bacon-wrapped jalapeños weren’t cooked through at all and had an awful aftertaste. Overall, the food was just disgusting.

When the waiter asked how the food was, we explained our concerns. He clearly didn’t care. He asked if I wanted to speak to a manager, and I declined—what was the point? I just wanted to leave. Despite that, the waiter went and told the manager anyway. The manager laughed and continued chatting with the hostesses while “cooking” the entire time.

Speaking of which—why are hostesses in the kitchen? If you’re short-staffed, put them to work cooking since they’re already back there.

To make things worse, the waiter returned with the check and said, “I’m sorry, I don’t know when food is bad.” That’s concerning. You can’t tell when white onions have turned yellow? When cucumbers are clear and spoiled? When food is burnt, undercooked, or nothing but fat? If you’re serving food and can’t recognize when it’s bad, you’re in the wrong industry.

This place gets one star only because the Coke and tostadas were fine. Everything else was a complete disappointment. Never again.

Masomenos. Good food but terrible service. The place is small so that has its challenges. But hands down, good food. A bit pricey in relation to portion sizes. $$
