corn bread was moist, chilie cheese rice was good! ribs fire! Everything on my plate was very good.
I just left this place, we usually go with several friends or a small group to eat as well as attend concerts. I was solo today for lunch and ordered a double brisket plate and a couple of sides. After 40 minutes and seeing other solo customers served I asked to speak to the manager. The “manager “ came up and smugly replied sorry. My money will be spent elsewhere for both bbq and concerts. What a shame.
The food is good but not the greatest. Ordered beef rib plate to-go and was told it came with bbq sauce on the side and corn bread, it came with neither. The cream corn was soupy with hardly any corn. The sausage (with no bbq sauce either) and wings were genuinely pretty good. Overall not bad but definitely not worth the price. I’m honestly very disappointed.

Ribs and brisket were great. The sides didn't shine as much but that's ok, after all I came for meat.

It was our first time here. Delicious food and sporty atmosphere. There are big screens everywhere to watch the games. The service was very good.

Kinda sad. I was in NY telling people about Desert Oak and how bbq should be. I flew in to EP (home) with the idea that I was going to enjoy some Desert Oak. We walked into a lonely restaurant with them telling us there was no running water ( they did give us bottle water). The order came out and it was a sad dry potato (hot gut). The waitress was not too concerned either. I told her it was dry and asked for sour cream (there was barely any on it). She brought it out but by that time I was done with it. Since I had already promised my son I would bring him a plate I figured I would just take my poor potato and fix it at home.

This was our first visit to Desert Oak Barbecue and it completely exceeded expectations. I don’t usually eat BBQ, but while in El Paso I wanted to try the most authentic spot—and this was it. We were greeted by Savannah whose positive energy and genuine hospitality made us feel welcome right away. Our server Samantha checked on us often and provided excellent service. We ordered the 10-piece chicken wings and the Desert Oak Plate with brisket and turkey; everything was tender, flavorful, and perfectly smoked. The brisket melted in our mouths, and the turkey was juicy and delicious. The restaurant has a relaxed, rustic feel with an amazing smoky aroma. Great food, great people, and a wonderful experience all around.

Great food and service. We had turkey, pulled pork, brisket, sausage, smoked wings. The smoked wings, Turkey and pulled are better than I we expected. The wings are smoked and the. Deep fried. It was real crispy, juicy and then the smoke flavor came thru. It was prefect! Yum!

Nice place with good wait staff. Delicious BBQ at an affordable price. A little music or art/murals on the walls would make it a 10/10.

I can't help thinking Desert Oaks BBQ is resting on their laurels.
The BBQ was a slight notch below what we came to expect in our years of eating Desert Oak. The sides didn't seem fresh and had the look and flavor of sitting in a steam table pan for too long.
The service was the worst to date. No refill on drinks that were empty by the time the food came out. Very little personality, no manager working the floor (we looked for one) and the waitstaff mostly hanging out behind the counter, on their phones, etc.
Advice to owners: Hire professional trained wait staff and managers, train your people regularly, and MOTIVATE people to enjoy their time at work, not just log hours and wonder why they only got a 10% tip. OR, give it up and go back to counter service, because this is not working.

Really delicious food and service. Super kind staff with an inviting interior! They allow dogs and have awesome beer selection. The smash burgers were GREAT!

We got the brisket, pork ribs, and a burger. The food was all pretty decent, nothing to complain or rave about. The food was on the saltier and drier side. Honestly, my favorite part of the meal were their fries. I appreciate it when a restaurant does sides well and to me, their fries were fantastic. The service was overall quick and friendly. It's got a nice open area outside (but it's not fully fenced in so kids might be able to run out into the street on one of the sides).

For an appetizer we ordered some pork belly bites- was fresh, hot and delicious. My spouse and I ordered a 2 meat plate. I received one cold piece of brisket & 4 wings. Macaroni & cheese was hard, cream corn was delicious. My spouse ordered pulled pork & ribs. Ribs were cold and also was the rice, but both were good.
Cornbread was delicious & moist. Our waitress was very attentive & kind. A lot of young individuals working the front & kitchen. Laughing & on their cell phones entire time. Resturant was clean & spacious- nice spot.
This is our second and last time trying this place. Both times, bad experiences.
We paid over $75.00 for small portions & cold food.
