AMAZING food and great customer service!! This is the most authentic Mexican food El Paso has. Everyone raves about the L&J's, but once you eat Dona Lupe there is no going back. Not to mention their prices are AMAZING!! 1/2 of what you'd be paying at any other Mexican restaurant. Don't forget to try their iced tea!!!!

After reading many reviews I decided to try it out.I ordered the manchaca play with a small bowl of menudo. There was little to no seasoning on any of the food aside from it's natural tasteThe menudo was way too oily with an interesting flavor. I was pretty disappointed with what I've heard. Maybe it was just my dish but my girlfriend had the same issue. There was no salt in the steak guisada dish. If I wanted my own seasonings, I would've just cooked at home instead of wasting my money at this location. Wouldn't recommend.

Is it sad to say that the reason this place has a 4.5 review is because these people who go here don't know true taste. My first time here and Im never going back. Not worth the money, the food had no seasoning at all and the menudo taste like they didn't wash it right let alone boil it properly. The steak guisada is a disgrace to the guisada name and should be taken off the menu. As a cook myself I'm surprised this restaurant is still kicking. Do not recommend.

Service is great. Loved the green salsa and chip. Had the steak tacos which were good but not great. L&J's steak tacos are so much better at similar price. The tacos at Dona Lupe were served plain with only lettuce, sour cream, and avocado. I did have a problem with the beans and rice. They looked and tasted days old. They were not freshly made. Food was okay, but there are places with much better food. Rather go there.

Haven't been here in decades, since my parents had the Mission de Guadalupe book store next Door, But this new owners are #1 on my list for Mexican food, We ordered the Picadillo plate that comes with 1 Enchilada beans and rice plus a salad and soup it was Great, very well prepared with all the fixings, the waiter was pretty busy but he did a very good job.

Legitimately the BEST red salsa I've ever had. Now other salsas are disappointing and one dimensional. I NEED more of this smokey chipotle salsa.Went 4/2/21 after landing after a red eye flight. They were still serving breakfast when we arrived but we were still given a basket of chips and green and red salsa. There is no time that is too early for chips and salsa. We had:Steak Guisada & eggs. $9.95Egg & chorizo omelette $7.75Machaca Burrito $3.50Only complaint was that my husband's omelette was overcooked and dry, but everything else was great.Value was great at $25.

We were staying near Dona Lupe and saw the reviews and decided to give it a try. We have been very cautious with restaurants during Covid but this felt very safe and we had a secluded table. The restaurant has beautiful murals on the walls and is a truly lovely space. The breakfast was fabulous and the waiter was very helpful as we are not very confident about ordering Mexican food especially for breakfast. I will look forward to returning on future visits to El Paso.

Not easy to find a jewel like that. Very small business but excellent in taste. I've had a breakfast ranchero made of roasted onion medium size steak and beans / potatoes with egg. Taste was flawless. The shop itself is in mexican style with painting etc on the wall. Stuff very nice. I can recommend it for a fast good breakfast for small money
