El California Mexican Restaurant

Astonishingly GREAT food!!! From Apps to Mains, El California is perfection and SABOR defined. EVERYTHING is seasoned perfectly and the delicate depth of the Soups and Sauces are extraordinary!!! So often these old time holes in the Wall are overrated but still Popular, El California is EVERYTHING you want in Mexican Food!!! Still smiling 9 hours later. Astonishing!!!

This restaurant is one of those small places nesr the downtown area on Texas street. The owner has been in business over 20 years and moved to this location. Today they offered 3 plates with bean and rice. Your choice of corn or flower tortillas, green and red salsa. I had the option of choosing: Chicken Tacos, Chile verde, and Albondigas. I chose the Albondigas plate. They were large and the soup was good! The special included Caldo de Rez and to drink Tea if you eat there.
They also have other menu items and burritos, and menudo. The servings are large. You will not leave hungry. I took mine to go and it was enoughe for me to have a second meal.
