I celebrated my birthday at Elmi on Friday and overall, it was an amazing experience. The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. The drinks were just as good, and the service throughout the night was attentive and friendly. The ambiance is cute and perfect for a special occasion. Truly, 110% a great restaurant.
The only thing that caught me off guard was when it came time to cut my birthday cake. I was informed there would be a $10 service fee because they sell desserts. I understand restaurants have policies, but after spending around $200 on food and drinks, it felt a little off — especially on a birthday celebration. It wasn’t about the $10, it was more the principle of it.
That said, the overall experience was still wonderful. I would definitely return for the food and atmosphere — just something to be aware of if you plan to bring your own cake.

We live in Horizon City and don't have many choices, except fast food. Our son was visiting from Washington and travels the world in his work. We were looking for a resturant close to us, not downtown that had vegetarian options, that was not just beans and cheese. We chose Elemi on a short notice whim.BEST CHOICE OF THE DAY, the cusiene was modest but incredible. Our options were plentiful. We started with the brussel sprouts appetizer and pepitos fundido. The 3 of us had a hard time finishing these wonderful starters. The blue corn tortillas were flavorful and warm. Our waiter was incredibly knowledgeable about the treats the menu had to offer. We will definitely return and recommend this resturant highly. Donella

Went to the new one on Cimarron. Really slow preparing food, especially because the place wasn't busy at all. They took a long time to prepare ONE taco. Which by the way, is the most expensive taco I've ever had. Cachetada de Ribeye - really small portion for $8! Do better.

The tacos with the blue corn tortillas were so good. However, the star of the show was the mole. So good! And to top it off, the chocolate tamale was literally the best dessert ever! Will be coming back immediately! Drinks and service were great as well!
