Food was far from expectations. Pasta was dry, presentation was terrible and portion sizes versus price

The space is horrible, the food is spectacular. Pastas made from scratch with a local twist

To call this an authentic Italian restaurant is to call Taco Bell authentic Mexican. I have stayed at this hotel dozens of times and eaten here as many. The service staff have always put in a good effort but the food quality, flavor and variety is seriously lacking. I just ordered the ribeye steak and forced down half of it. Seriously poor quality and bad seasoning. There is potential here but management needs to get serious about quality ingredients at the very least.

🤮🤮🤮 This is honestly the worst Italian restaurant I’ve ever been to in my life. I truly don’t understand how some people dare to say the food is good – they clearly know nothing about real food. The burrata was awful, the so-called focaccia bread was a dense, compact loaf that has nothing to do with proper focaccia – absolutely disgusting. I felt so sick afterwards that I ended up vomiting all night. Horrible experience, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Had an excellent dinner there this evening. The caprese salad had generous portions of tomato and fresh mozzarrella with capers and a light pesto dressing. The meatballs with spaghetti featured three giant meatballs and fresh pasta with a tasty sauce blended in. The service was friendly and efficient.

If you want great quality Italian food in El Paso this place is a must. Joel was our server and gave us excellent recommendations. We tried the mussels, meatballs and fritto misto to start, followed by three pastas and the pollo parmigiana. Everything was delicious. For dessert we ordered all four options, the gelato was amazing and the Nutella calzone was so hugeeee we had to take it to-go. Great service, great food, highly recommend.

The meal was enjoyable, though my expectations were a little different. Still, I appreciated the effort and presentation.

Disappointed and won’t return

I had high hopes for Casanova based on location and the promise of upscale Italian—but unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming from start to finish.

Our server was unfamiliar with the menu and couldn’t answer basic questions. We ordered the calamari appetizer, which was supposed to come with zucchini—it arrived with fried green and red peppers instead (no explanation), and it was cold and greasy.

For mains, I ordered the bolognese, which was bland, lacked authenticity, and was definitely not worth the price. My husband ordered a ravioli dish that came with chicken parmesan, but the ā€œravioliā€ turned out to be a single large sheet of pasta with a thin layer of cheese underneath—lazy execution at best.

We finished with espresso martinis, hoping to redeem the evening, but they were mediocre at best and cost $16 each.

The only positive is the location. Otherwise, the food was subpar, the drinks overpriced, and the service inattentive. Not recommended for anyone looking for authentic or even consistent Italian fare.

The quality of the food compared to the price was disappointing. The pizza was delicious but everything else we ordered was disappointing. (Risotto, ribeye's)

The portions were very small and the prices were very high. I had the short rib pasta and the noodles were undercooked and the meat was very greasy. For such high prices they could at least put bread on the table but nothing was offered.

I hate posting negative reviews but I feel like I need to share my experience at this restaurant. My husband took me here for Mother’s Day yesterday because I had been wanting to try it out for a while now. When we got seated the table was dirty with crumbs all over it. Our waitress was a sweet girl but she knew nothing about the menu which was a very short and simple menu. We started with a bowl of their seasonal soup which was very very good. However we never received silverware or napkins which was frustrating. I ordered the pollo parmigiana which was supposed to come with spinach ravioli. My husband ordered the shrimp nd pasta dish. When my meal came out it was served with spaghetti noodles. The waitress told me they had ran out of the spinach ravioli which would have been nice to know before they served my plate given I probably would’ve ordered something else if I knew that was the case. My chicken was also cold and dry like it has been sitting for a while in the kitchen. The waitress apologized about not mentioning to me that they were out of the ravioli. She then offered to substitute it for something else and when I asked what else they have she said she didn’t know lol. What really pushed things over the edge was my husbands dish. It was topped with three large shrimp for the protein with a very small amount of pasta under it. The pasta was yummy but the shrimp were completely undercooked. Basically raw. He couldn’t even pull the meat out of the outer shell because of how raw and tough it was. A gentleman came to our table who I assume was the manager (but he didn’t introduce himself). I explained to him how let down we were with everything that was wrong and he did apologize but did not really offer any resolutions. We ended up returning our plates and left after having only eaten the soup we started with. It was very disappointing. I feel like this restaurant definitely has potential but o think they do need someone in leadership who is a bit older and more mature. The entire staff was very young and knew almost nothing about the menu and options which was strange to me. Sad to say we will not be returning.

I arrived around 9pm on a Saturday and ordered the short ribs dish. Honestly the dish doesn't look appealing but it wasn't bad at all. The service was excellent!!! George was a great server/bartender

Our server was just wonderful. We were on our way to a show and he made our dinner delightful while keeping everything under control for our time limitation.
