Our family has been buying tamales here for more than fifteen years. The last few times we have had bad experiences. Salted or raw tamales, without flavor. Today August 8, 2021, Verde's tamales are not green, see photo. They have no flavor, they are white. We went back to complain and the excuse they gave us is that the jalapeño got old and turned red. As cooks you should know that when the jalapeño gets old it loses flavor. It's a shame that they no longer take care of the flavor of the stew after so many years to build the business.
Love coming here for the tamales. The older people working are always so lovely when I come in.
Tamales are discusting and tiny; and at $17 per dozen, its a rip off. Just about any other tamales place I have try are way better. When I was waiting for my order a woman come to complain about tamales she had bought and asked for her money back; the ladies where very rude to her, I should have walked away in that moment.
They serve very well and the tamales are very delicious?
Best Tamales and Mexican home made food.
The food is always good and good customer service. My family has been going since they opened and we will continue to be going
My Only Tamale Shop when in Texas
One word comes to mind when thinking of these tamales...ew. We had 2dz of the red tamales and they were lemony like if the meat turned. No spicy flavor and dry. The worst part was the meat. It was so disgusting tasting I couldnt bare eating more than 1. When we spoke to the ladies at the store they were extremely rude denying any wrong-doing telling us it wasn't their fault and refused to give us our money back. $30 down the drain. I advise you don't go to this place. I've found that Bowie Bakery has way better tamales.
Only reason I’m giving this place 1 star is because it’s needed in order to rate this joint. Bought some tamales (2dz.) and they had a bitter taste. Called the store to let them know and the ladies were rude and saying it couldn’t be their tamales. They literally said, “what do you want us to do, because it can’t be our tamales?” Paid 30.00 plus dollars for 2 dozens and we only ate 2. Threw the rest away because they were nasty. I should have listened when people warned me.

The tamales are kind of small, and the champurrado was salty. The service was great.
Pre ordered gorditas and other items for pick up on Friday April 26th. We drive 30 minutes to pick up the food at the time the food should be ready and they tell us the masa for the gorditas wasnt delivered so they couldnt make them. In addition none of the other food we ordered was available. The only item we could buy was tamales. What kind of establishment takes a pre-order from a family that has been going there for over 30 years and then not only doesn't have the food but doesn't seem to care. I am sure it used to be better but its the last time we ever try them. What a horrendous way to treat customers and waste their time. Additionally none of the owners were there as they cant bother to care. Good luck staying open as I see others have also mentioned how much downhill the place has gone.
Champurrado was amazing. Pork tamales were great! Limited menu today due to Covid.
I'm very happy with my purchase I've always had a great experience at Jorge's Tamales
