Koze Teppan Grill (West Side)

The experience was a great one. The hostess was able to accommodate us. We were waiting for other family members and she was kind enough to change the reservation. Mike was the chef and he is very good at what he does. He made everyone at the table feel special and his ability to cook is beyond any description. Very good service, always on top of our needs. Will definitely go back.

Our server Rhys and the chef Rodger were amazing! My son and I had a great meal, and we were well taken care of from start to finish.

However, we had a disappointing interaction with the manager. I had ordered a bottle of wine, enjoyed our appetizers, sat down at the grill, and were getting ready to pay when the manager, whose name I unfortunately didn’t catch (red-haired), demanded that we leave our grill and move to another table. She stated that she had promised the family behind us, who had just arrived, that they could watch the Cowboys game from the table we were sitting at.

Mind you, we all would have easily fit at that table. A simple, polite request to share the space while we finished paying and boxed our food would have resolved the situation, but that did not happen. Instead, she demanded that we move and essentially rushed us out of the restaurant. While doing so, she was slurring her words and her eyes kept rolling back, which made the interaction even more concerning and uncomfortable.

It’s unfortunate because the service and meal were excellent, but due to the manager’s disrespectful, condescending, and rude behavior (consistent with previous experiences at this location) I would likely not return or recommend this place to friends.

Rhys and Rodger, thank you for the wonderful service. As for the manager, she was clearly not prepared to handle the situation professionally.

The food is always good here especially if you order over the grill. You are provided soup and salad and can choose sushi and food is cooked right in front of you on the grill. Usually the chefs are very entertaining.

Well worth the price, Starting from being greeted at the door and checking in on our reservation. Got us in on time and the waitress was super amazing! She was super attentive and I wish I could remember her name. The Chef was the best!! I have never experienced a better experience at a hibachi restaurant. Irving if I remember correctly was amazing at keeping us entertained and laughing until I couldn’t breathe! The whole experience was absolutely amazing and I think that I have found my new hibachi spot! Thank you all for the amazing experience and keep that amazing customer service.

Giving 1 star not because of the service and food, which was excellent btw, but for poor management. They do not care for the safety of the chefs and waitresses at the Mesa location. At the table where we sat, the chefs cook in front of you, the wood platform they stand on has a large hole in the middle. Hole looks old like it has been like that a long while. Waitress stumbled into it and chef has to work around so he does not get stuck in it. I say this is poor management to allow the employees risk twisting an ankle in that hole. What does it cost to go buy a freaking wood panel?? 🤦‍♀️

You’re a real restaurant — act like it. Cover your own credit card processing fees instead of passing them to customers. I won’t be coming back because of this cheap practice.

Food as always was very good, very fresh and tasty. I was disappointed being charged 3% fee for paying with a debit card and was added a 20% gratuity for a party of five (especially gratuity was added after tax pricing)!

Best sushi in El Paso, and some of the best sushi period.
You will leave the restaurant smelling like oil which is typical for any teppanyaki place. So, don't wear anything you can't throw in the washing machine and go enjoy some sushi.
