Been coming here for more than a year. Service is quick and attentive. Cashiers sorta friendly, depends on the day. Not a deal breaker though. My go to order is always the gorditas. The breakfast tamale plate should satisfy any hunger. During Christmas they take pre-orders for tamales. This year (2025) the price for a dozen was $24.90 (tax included). Here's a tip: after Christmas last year they had a frozen tamale clearance sale. I stocked up on 3 dozen at half price. This place has been here a long time and I highly recommend it.

Been a customer for 30 yrs and although I do comprehend supply and demand the quality has significantly changed. Specially in the tostadas. I’m ok with higher prices as long as the quality is there, but past few times the quality is just way too salty. Also the $.75 charge on all transaction is a bit excessive, at least for a $3.50 transaction.

Been a client for more than 10 years, always come and have the best experience ever, the person attending/ serving.

Today I had the worst experience ever, and no, I am not only speaking for myself, since clearly the bad customer service is there.
I was only there for less than 20 minutes, just trying to submit an order to go, the lady attending me in the cashier, have the worst customer service treatment ever, she was rude to me, to elderly clients, and whoever had to speak to her in regards to just placing an order.
This lady seems like she hates her job , she hates where she is, and she hate you if you even just talk to her.
I really hope that she is not the owner , because if she is the clientele will definitely go down.
This lady had a hair bun, yellowish strands of hair, pink/ red glasses.

How upsetting that the tapatia went so low in hiring this type of people.

Last time I come here, even though I love this place.

If you come, be ready to be treated like crap.
I ordered all this, and still was not treated like a valuable customer

My mom and I were excited to try this restaurant, but unfortunately, we ended up leaving without ordering. When we walked in, there was no one to greet us, so we went up to the counter where a woman just stared at us without saying anything. When I asked if we could sit anywhere, she rolled her eyes and told us we had to order at the counter first. She didn’t offer a menu, and the digital menu on the TVs was difficult to read since it kept changing every few seconds. It all felt unwelcoming, and it honestly explained why the place was empty. We decided it was best to leave and try another restaurant instead.

La Tapatia makes the best gorditas I’ve ever ate. They are light and fluffy with perfectly seasoned meat. I first ate them over twenty years ago and returning to eat the same perfect gorditas was a real treat!

The staff are friendly with great service. If you are in El Paso, come here!

La Tapatia in the Ysleta area is my go-to! 🌮 Every taco and tamal hits just right, and the flavors feel like home. Friendly staff, welcoming vibe, and generous portions—definitely a must if you’re in El Paso! 💜

I don't know if they changed cooks, but the last three times we have gone, the food has been very bland. The gorditas needed salt and the tamales as well did not have any taste. We have been going there for more than 40 years and the food was always very good. Hopefully they can fix it so we can buy our tamales for the holidays like we do every year.
